At the end of OotP malfoy went to Azkaban.....but at the end of OotP we also saw that the dementors were not on the lookout for prisoners anymore
(we saw that after those 12 death eaters escaped but no dementors were walking around Hogsmeade or guarding Hogwarts, yet they were all over the place when only one - Sirius Black - had escaped)
i think it's safe to say the dementors are not under ministry control anymore and Lucius is probably already free again :angry:

so? Is Lucius going into hiding? Is he going to start attacking poeple, mainly wizards that work in the ministry? or is he maybe trying to convince everyone he was forced to go to the ministry....or put under a some spell by Voldemort?

are ministry officials going to search his house - again - now that he's a known death eater? how are Draco and Narzissa Malfoy going to affected by this?

Great question. I agree that we can prolly bank on the dementors not being under ministry control. Its like DD said, dementors are naturally dark creatures, and their natural allie is Voldy.

So as for Lucious, I don't think he'll try to convice ppl it was all a big mistake. Theres gotta be too much evidence for that. Although...I shouldn't second guess how retarded the ministry can be...

But I would guess that he'll be full force for Voldy. Back stabbing fellow wizards, torturing muggles, and basically trying to further Voldy's work.

I agree with Li; he won't go into hiding, because that would make him look even more suspicious than he did before. And I think that the Ministry of Magic is REEEEEEEALLY stupid, and that they prolly won't check Lucius' house again.

With regards to dementors following one person instead of the 12 death eaters, Sirius was more dangeous than all of them combined. But the point is seen. However it is rumored that dementors have "a leader" who can speak, and aides in the help to fight voldemort :blink: , doubt it, but it would add some intresting plot-line. Second it would be for the best that Lucius go into hiding than attack, the ministry. Has much as this may surpirse some people the misitry does have some pretty good wizards and witches. And if i was a psychotic military dictator, which i'm not, I would wait for when i haved regrouped and ready to strike critical areas, and the ministry is not one of them. Remember divide and conquer. As for Malfoy and his mom, i'm pretty sure they know. It's when they die that a big change Malfoy will undergo.(little yoda for ya)

Back to the topic at hand. :) I think the dementors are bound to side with Voldy. Just think about what they are: Dark hooded creatures that cause you to relive your worst memories, and have a mouth with the purpose of sucking souls. Really sounds like they'd want to help out Harry, huh? *sarcasm*

on the one hand i wanna agree with you. that's defenitly what i think is gonna happen too! they are not good creatures! but then again, they were working for the good side this whole time cause it suited them best i guess. jk might surprise us, since most poeple are expecting them to side with voldemort, she might pull something unexpected off and the ministry or dumbledore i should say gets them to fight voldemort :unsure: how she would do it i have no clue...but she could.

That's a nice theory, there. But yeah, the Dementors will most like side with Voldemort. They would be kinda creepy to have on the side of good anyway, even though they would be an EXCELLENT defense. Oh well. :)

i just read something that i had completly forgotten. lucius didn't only influence the MoM with his generous "donations", but St. mungos as well! (maybe for someone to keep an eye on the longbottoms? and to bring the plant to bode.)

will he loose his influence over st. mungos as well? will this change something with the longbottoms? or are those "traitors" gonna stay faithful to lucius...even after he goes into hiding?

After what I have read in the books and stuff, knowing Lucius Malfoy he will either say that he was under a spell (very likely) or just stay in hiding... As for teh dementor thing, I agree that it was a lot easier to look for just one person rather than 12! I don't think that the dementors have much to do with the Ministry anymore... I also think that the reason the dementors aren't going around Hogsemede and stuff is because there seemed to be a lot of complaints about it and I doubt the Ministry wants to deal with that again!

its a shame we didnt get the giants on good side anyway i wonder if nevile will go after the person that did that too his mum and dad i mean i would want revenge and i truly belive that the dementors will go on bad side

As to the dementors i think they are a cert. for Voldy's side.
I know there are some wizard's skilled at Patronus' but what's
the MoM gonna do? Hire every witch/ wizard who can conjure
one and have them stand guard over the Dementors making the
incantation every two minutes of the day?

As for Lucious and his power at Mungos. I think it'll be all or nothing. He will either come out of hiding, and be opening hated by the MoM and Mungos, or try to keep his reputation as is.

i reckon most wizards will be against Malfoy now as everyone knows that he's a deatheater and as they're all supposed to be in Azkaban , if he breaks out then he'll be an outlaw first off and everyone will want to turn him in. but the major problem is that they cant keep them locked up any more can they if the dementors are working for voldemort.

I totally agree with you on both things!! But Lucius will get what's coming to him in the end, I'm almost sure of it. But those dementors. . . I never, ever wanted them anywhere near Hogwarts or Hogsmeade or anywhere. They really do give you a really creeped out feeling, like they are sucking the happiness out of you. . . :unsure:

I guess I just see no real reason for them to stay. Voldemort can offer them much more then the MoM can. He will allow them to use their "soul sucking powers" which is what ultimately makes them happy, right? From almost every angle it makes more sense for the dementors to side with Voldy.
