http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=12511 :

"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling has updated her official website with a note saying that she's getting ready to write the seventh and final book in the popular series.

"For 2006 will be the year when I write the final book in the Harry Potter series," she says. "I contemplate the task with mingled feelings of excitement and dread, because I can't wait to get started, to tell the final part of the story and, at last, to answer all the questions (will I ever answer all of the questions? Let's aim for most of the questions); and yet it will all be over at last and I can't quite imagine life without Harry."

Rowling adds that she's been working hard on preparing for the big project.

"I have been fine-tuning the fine-tuned plan of seven during the past few weeks so that I can really set to work in January. Reading through the plan is like contemplating the map of an unknown country in which I will soon find myself. Sometimes, even at this stage, you can see trouble looming; nearly all of the six published books have had Chapters of Doom. The quintessential, never, I hope, to be beaten Chapter That Nearly Broke My Will To Go On was chapter nine, 'Goblet of Fire' (appropriately enough, 'The Dark Mark'.)"

Wow!
Well,i must say, 'Nothing will ever be as good as the Harry Potter series. It's going to be weird once book 7 is finished, because we know that there wont be another Harry Potter book. But if someone tries to write more Harry Potter books,it will never be the same!
THANK YOU JK!!!'

mtgluva - December 31, 2005 10:37 PM (GMT)

afigirlafi - January 6, 2006 11:41 PM (GMT)
i know but i really
want to know what will happen next!!

mwiley - January 17, 2006 01:03 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it'll be different not waiting for the next book to come out like we have for so long. I'm gonna miss harry potter, its like the only book series I've read!!

afigirlafi - January 28, 2006 12:15 AM (GMT)
sort of gona be like from the forth book to the 5 book i though tthat it took for ever.

Ginny_potter - January 29, 2006 06:54 PM (GMT)
It is true that it will be weird once book 7 has finished, in some ways i dont want the 7th to come out because i know that will be it, no more storys of harrys life (if there will be much left)
But i surpose there is the films to look foward to but after that what the hell am i going to do!

Sardine - January 29, 2006 08:24 PM (GMT)
Hmmm...The films???I hope they dont make a mess of the next two like with Prisoner of Azkaban...Pity there wont be a 7th...

afigirlafi - January 29, 2006 10:24 PM (GMT)
what fo you mean there won't be a 7th movie? anywayz i'm guess i'm gonna have to find antoher book series after hp is finished

Luna - January 30, 2006 04:50 AM (GMT)
Hopefully we all. will.
If Harry doesn't die in the end of 7 i want her to go on about his life. I can just imagine all the great stuff he'd do as an adult... get married... drink for the first time, raise kids, get a job... It'll be like the marauders.
Or it be nice if she wrote a prequel.
I'm about to cry just thinking about it ending.

Sardine - January 30, 2006 05:31 PM (GMT)
You know,a few letters can change ones mind...If she doesnt want to write another book after the 7th,we can simply beg her to!Ok,maybe not 'simply',but we can try!

Professor Rogue - January 30, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
Oh it's defaintly going to be weir seeing the last book, knowing that there isn't another adventure following. I think though that from the fan base, she'd write another book. Now, whether it follows Harry or not is a good question, but the Wizardy is too interesting for her to just stop writing about it. Even if she followed Harry's kids around or something, that would be interesting to see.

Sardine - January 30, 2006 07:29 PM (GMT)
All i know is that she MIGHT write another book, but for younger kids...Other than that,i dont know.
She should just have another book or two, explaining stuff like why she wrote Harry Potter, why she made it have this twist or that character...I dunno...

afigirlafi - January 31, 2006 12:39 AM (GMT)
yeah but i doubt it

Luna - February 1, 2006 01:43 AM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure that she has plans to kill Harry at the end of book 7 so sequels aren't all that likely... but it'd be really cool of she made a kind of "behind the scenes" book. or she could write memoirs... i'm sure even that'd be brilliant.
But, yes, she does have plans to write a children's book after HP is done. Though she said that she'd be changing her name for the cover so people wouldn't just read it due to her popularity and what-not.

mwiley - February 12, 2006 05:30 AM (GMT)
As much as i don't want her to kill harry, she probably

i think maybe she wants to make it different from other book series. Usually they defeat the enemy and get on with life. That gets boring after a while.

Shonk Da 'Onk - February 12, 2006 06:44 AM (GMT)
I just want him to go insane. ^_^ That would be my fav option.

I'm really undecided on wether i think she is gonna keel him or not. Blah...guess I'll just wait and see :)

afigirlafi - February 13, 2006 12:36 AM (GMT)
lol shonk i like lina want him to die!!!!!!!! or make him insane!!!

Coldfire - March 11, 2006 10:22 AM (GMT)
Yeah it's going to be quite sad to see the books come to close... but such is live, and we'll just have to move on lol. Trust me, I've read enough book series' to know how frustrating it is to know that there is never going to be another book. But the books will forever leave a mark in the hearts of those that they touched. And for the imaginative mind, Harry and Ron and Hermione's adventures will never, ever end. ^_^

afigirlafi - March 11, 2006 12:42 PM (GMT)
oh, micley said colfire you took thw word right out of my mouth! j/k but yeah there adventures will go on in my mind

marywyman - August 1, 2006 11:23 PM (GMT)
:( It is so sad that the series of Harry Potter is ending. I really was hoping that JK would change her mind and come up with some more stories about the wizarding world. I was kind of hoping she would write about James and Lily Potter and their adventures and Snape, and Dumbledore, before Harry came about, or what happeens after the downfall of Voldemort, even if Harry ends up dying in the end, I want to know more about Bill, Charlie, and even Ludo Bagman.

REMY-SALINAS - August 2, 2006 05:07 PM (GMT)
who knows maybe she will stop writing about Harry and all the other witches and wizards but she'll allow otheres to write there own stories about them???

Dana Lynn - December 1, 2006 04:31 PM (GMT)
I don't think she will let other people write about Harry and the other HP characters. The characters she has created are dear to her and are probably copyrighted. She wouldn't want someone else deciding there fates. But JK did say that there would be more deaths in the 7th book. I really hope Harry doesn't die, but cha never know. But yes I would like to know what the characters do after book 7 you know how they turn out that would interesting. Maybe a sort of reunion where they have to come back to take care of some unfinished business or something... I don't know but anyways, just thought I would throw in my 2 cents.

marywyman - December 2, 2006 12:38 AM (GMT)
I would also like to know the goings of the remaining witches and wizards in the Order of the Phoenix. And Nevile and the rest of the griffindor's in Harrys and Jinny's classes. Even the Weasley twins, I would be interested to know about them also. What happens to Krum? (then again maybe a lot of these questions will be answered in the final book).
In a way I can't wait for book seven and then in a way I wish the series would never end. I really look forward to the whole Harry Potter book releases. the release parties. All of the anticipation as to what happens in the new book and the anticipation for the next one, I really will miss all of it. I just want it to go on and on. (kind of like the song that doesn't end - but then eventually it does). I have started to write alternate stories - just for me, no one else sees them. It was just something I started doing after I read book 5 when JK killed off Sirius. ( I miss him in Harry's life.) I have written a whole lot about if Sirius hadn't died and Harry and Sirius worked together to bring about the downfall of Voldy and then Harry and Sirius finally get to live together as family. And of course eventually Harry and Jinny get together and after a few years Harry becomes a professor at Hogwarts and teaches (what else) Defense against the Dark Arts. There is also Hermione and Ron who get together after a while themselves and Hermione also teaches at Hogwarts and is the Transfiguration Professor. Ron ends up working at the ministry in the magical creatures department and helps bring about the reduction in houseelf enslavement and fair rights are granted to houseelves, centaurs and the like. (Like I said there is a whole bunch of stories to build on, and if JK isn't going to write on them, then I will make up my own - even if noone sees them except for me :naughty:

Twilight - December 2, 2006 04:35 AM (GMT)
I don't want the books to end. It's going to break my heart. :(

I just hope that JKR eventually realizes that she can't stop. The story originally popped into her mind on a train, she says, and she could hardly wait to start writing it down. I hope that happens again! I think we should demand that she keep riding trains until it does. Don't let her get off until she's ready for Books 8-14 or so!
