Title: Week 2

jctcm - August 19, 2008 07:30 PM (GMT)
Hi.. I can see many KBM'ers did well in week1. Congrats. I have to post GTRP early this week as I will be away few days for a holiday in Paris today. Did my preview helpful last week? I hope so..
32 goals scored in first week and as expected, many debutant scored. Elmander, Nasri, Deco and Zaki all scored. All 4 players costed a total less than 25 units. Cut the crap and straight to my preview.

Story of Week 2
Another SG this week. With 14 teams on Saturday, 4 on Sunday and one Monday night game. Bare in mind that the closing time for week 1 is on 23rd Aug, Saturday, 7pm local time. There is still enough time for you to enter a team.

Choose Players from
Here are the list of teams that have the best fixture for week 2.
QUOTE
Wigan v Chelsea
Tot v Sun
Liv v Boro
Bla v Hull
Ful v Ars

No one will bet against Chelsea atm. They have a good coach (compared with AG) and a fit squad to choose. It will be hard to see them failing to notch their second win. Chelsea have a bunch of good yff players in their team. Provided you get someone who is starting, I would say your team will perform well. Chelsea never fail to score at Wig, won all last 3 away games and hold 5-1-0 record against Wig. Wig on the other hand, fail to get a good start to the season and shld expect another defeat. Picking up players from Wig would damage your team a lot.

Tot against lost their first game of the season unexpectedly. They need Berbatov to starts. However, I mentioned somewhere that Sun is playing well at home but certainly not for away fixtures. They have only away 11 points to show from an impressive 39 points last season. I reckon Tot to win this game by 2 goals. Hope to see Ramos will invovle Berba in this game.

Liv leave it late to win their game last week and will be up against a tough opponent Boro. Boro confident will be high after beating Tot 2-1. However they will have an uphill task to do as Boro fail to beat Liv in their last 7 games. Torres is on top form and Liv defence look extremely strong. A tough week for Boro.

Bla looking set to strengthen their team with another 2 signings. They won their opening game and showed everyone they were not a weakened side following Bentley departure. Else, Hull suprised everyone with an impressive performance last week and will be looking to maintain momentum. However, I was expecting Bla to get something from this game. They team as a whole look promising this season.

Again AW made a good signing. Nasri scored on his debut. Every KBM should cheers for his goal. Hopefully. Ahem.. Ars will be gunning for their 6th successive permiership wins and knowing that they have won the lsat 3 games against Ful, I don expeect Ful to come out with anything from this game. Ars defence look solid. CS is possible. Expecting a big win for the Gunners. Cash in guys..

Player Pick

Forward
user posted imageAnelka 14.17 @Wig
Drogba is still injured and Anelka should starts. Chelsea look unstopable atm and Anelka will be likely to continue his goal scoring form. I have mentioned clearly on Anelka calibre last week and he proved that he still a yff points machine. As long as he stay fit, he will be in my team. Anelka has little time left to prove his worth, that s before Drogba is back from injury. He needs goals to seal his place. A calculated pick.

user posted imageD. Bent 6.89 Sun
As mentioned, Tot will win this game. Bent form a one man forward strategy last week. He should be starting again but with Berba as his partner. He has a good scoring record in preseason and I think performance in preseason will count. Bent showed everyone how good his finishing touch was and I believe he still at his form. I wouldnt be suprise to see his turn the table around after a disappointing -1.00 point last week. Grab him at that price.

user posted imageSanta Cruz 12.79 Hull
Bla will be up against high flyer Hull. It will be up to Bla to prove them how tough premiership game is. Getting a Bla forward is a good bet. Santa Cruz is the only prospect to start the game after bagging a goal. He is good in the air and always in the right position to put the ball at the back of the net.I am expecting more goals from him after seeing scoring 19 premiershp goals last season. A vital consideration as long as Bla have a home game. This week, he is in my team.

Midfield

user posted imageNasri 8.33 @ Ful
Again he is named in this thread. As long as he stays fit, he will be in my team. Nasri replaces Hleb and played a similar role as Pires did. A quick and outstanding technically player with mobility, vision and good engine. Expecting an exciting wekend from him again as Ars will be facing a weak Ful side. A must pick even at full price. He can easily return hs value even without a goal.

user posted imageDeco 7.86 @ Wig
Another debutant who scored last week. Deco scored with a stunning goal beating D.James from long range. With Ballack appear doubtful, Deco should starts again. Scolari knows Deco well and has mentioned Deco will be in his gameplan. I would see Deco as a long term pick as he managed to get 230 points last season in LaLiga fantasy if I recalled correctly. A strong reason to keep him.

user posted imageG.Barry 13.99 @ Stoke
Another away player but with a good fixture. Barry defies the odds and perform well even when all the speculations haven't stop. He has 2 assists last week and was very invovle. Ast should the fav to win their game and Barry who holds the responsibility to take set pieces and penalty will be a worthy pick. But if you miss him out on preupdate. You may look someone else. Pick him if you have the budget.

user posted imagePedersen 11.13 Hull
A darkhorse pick. MGP is a disappointment last season mainly because of his drop in form. However, with the departure of Bentley, MGP will be their playmaker who brings in attacking football. He has scored some stunning goals including the one he scored against Ful and won the Goal of the Month award(Aug 05). Pedersen can shot form any angle and lileky to brings in offensive points occasionally. With a good fixture against Hull, MGP might turn out big this week.

Defender
user posted imageDossena 6.38 Boro
A popular pick this week. Dossena impressed everyone as he returned his value. I was expecting everyone to have him in your team. He does run forward, making crosses and earning corners. Liv is likely to earn a CS in this game as their defence are very solid last week. I am convinced that getting a fullback from Liv is a good choice. No worry on his starting status. Dossena at that price is a worhy one.

user posted imageBosingwa 5.91 @Wig
It remain a doubt whether he will be fit last week. But we managed to see a fully fit Bosingwa. Funny stuff, Bosingwa replace Ferreira after his departure from Porto and now he is there to replace Ferreira again. A good pick at that price as he is good at making forward runs and providing good crosses as he showed last week. Grab him.

P.Robinson 6.93 Eve
Robinson did well last week. He earned 11 points without CS bonus and against Ars. He has a very offensive role as Clement is unfit. A good pick if he managed up opportunity to earn yff points like last week. Pick him up if you are short of units.

GK
user posted imageAlmunia 11.69 @Ful
Almunia wasnt really tested by WBA last week. and yet Ars should expct another one sided game this week against Ful. Against a much weaker side, I would see Ars to maintain their CS record (Ars beat Ful 3-0 at Cottage Park last season). No worry on his starting status and he is a safe pick.

Good Luck everyone
