| May 10, 2004 - A lot has been said and even seen of Dead or Alive Ultimate and very soon we'll have more details to offer. For now, Tecmo has released some basic information on Ultimate the upcoming online remake of DOA 1 and 2. Developed by Team Ninja exclusively for Xbox, Dead or Alive Ultimate is a two-disc collector edition set, which includes trading cards of the DOA fighters. Disc 1 features Dead or Alive 1 Ultimate, the online version of the first Dead or Alive, which shipped in 1997. Though the graphics won't feature any significant upgrades, you can expect this to be the smoothest and best-looking version of the original to date. Disc 2 features the more highly anticipated Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate. Originally released in 2000, the Xbox remake features a completely new engine, more interactive environments, new fighting moves, and new costumes -- oh and it's also online. Gamers will enjoy more stages than in any previous DOA game with a healthy number of new stages created just for DOA2U. To boot, Ultimate has an all new opening cinema and all-new endings for each character, revealing all new details. Fully supporting Xbox Live play, DOAU allows players to go online and fight against competitors across the country in seven different fighting modes.
