as the thread implies, give your views on the flick. i just saw it an hour ago, but i'll throw my review up later on.

so............what'cha think?

here are my points, contains spoilers. view at your own risk

• why did Megatron's vehical mode look like the swordfish 2 from cowboy bebop?
• Starscream didnt have a sword. he had an arm blade, but that aint a sword. f-22 wings wont make a nice sword, but i wanted a sword!
• why did jazz have to be 'black'?
• also, why did he have to die?
• Bumblebee ownz, legs or no legs
• Megatron entered in the movie a bit too late for my tastes
• transformations could be a bit faster. they were good, but a bit faster. maybe by a second or 2
• i want Bumblebee's rear-view hanger

• Starscream's fight with the f-22s gave me the idea that we can now make a robotech movie. who has micheal bay's email??
• Optimus didnt have is dues ex machina trailer... whats up with that

i gave it an A-. to me, it wasnt as epic as another friend things. it was good, not epic. should people see it: YES!

I caught the second matinee showing of this today (glad i came in early for work the past two days to make up my tardiness, lol). I was praying that this movie adaptation wouldn't dissapoint.....luckily for once my prayers (mine amongst many many others i bet) were answered. The transformers was great. it had a bit of a slow start, yet thankfully when the pacing kicked in, everything was moving along like clockwork. Any fan of the 80s or the franchise in general should see this film....period.
Listed below are some possible spoilers and a tad bit of ranting from me....the film's great, but it's not that "epic event that will forever change the industry in terms of cartoons/comics to film adaptation".

The Autobots:
Optimus (Peterbilt Truck)- you can't have transformers without the big guy....or should i say "tall guy" himself. he's the "father figure" of the autobots and i was so glad to know that his original voice actor "peter cullen" reprised the role once again.
Bumblebee (Chevrolet Camaro)- the "bread and butter" of the franchise. without a doubt the most likable of the autobots from start to finish.
Ironhide (GMC Toppick Pickup Truck)- the artilary of the group or the aggressive autobot. not much personal screentime with, but cool all the same.
Jazz (Pontiac Solstice)- the "black guy" of the group. not enough screen time, yet cool nonetheless. my only complaint was he suffered at the hands of the "hollywood cliche"......"if someone's going to die, let it be the black guy".
Rachet (Hummer H2)- not one of my fav autobots, yet as with the others was cool to see. Plus he had some funny dialogue.

Rants:
Optimus had a mouth. why didn't they just leave his muffler on as so in the series.
Jazz was killed, and that's a huge no-no in my book.
Not enough onscreen time for the autobots.
Their "protoforms" were the same.

The Decepticons:
Megatron (Cybertronian Jet) - Again, there's no Transformers without the badass of bad himself. It's a shame they used Hugo Weaving as opposed to his original voice iteration.
Barricade (Saleen Ford Mustang) - His segment with Sam was good and funny at the same time. He gets beaten by bumblebee.
Blackout (MH53 Pave Low Helicopter) - Dialogue was nonexistent. Had some good onscreen segments overall.
Bonecrusher (Buffalo H-Mine Armored Vehicle) - Not enough screen time, but had a good fight with optimus.
Brawl (M1 Abrams Tank) - Not enough screen time and was chumped shortly thereafter.
Frenzy (GPX 2 speaker CD player/Mobile Phone) - No "soundwave", so this was the next best thing. A funny character down the the very end.
Scorpinok (Mechanical Scorpion)- Suffered from a "lack of transformantion", yet seeing it in action was viscious.
Starscream (F-22 Raptor) - Only had one line, had a few segments of screentime.....and LIVED.

Rants:
Megatron was a jet, yet in one segment he merged both arms to form a cannon; crippling optimus. now why could he not be a "gun-type" is still beyond me.
Decepticons outnumbered the Autobots, yet the Auto's had no problems wiping the floor with most of them.
Not enough "voiced-dialogue" between them.

Universal rants:
While i accept their designs, they still don't seem "authentic" in a sense.
Transformation time could've been shortened by 2 - 4 secs.
Traditional "transformation chime" was nearly nonexistent due to the high pitch volume of the "inworking gears".
Some were not of their "original designs" that we all grew up on.

Story:
It dragged a bit in the beginning. Since the Decepticons had already made it to earth way before the rest of the Autobot fleet, this somewhat dull pacing could've been nullified entirely.
....and that's all from my end. Trust me, my rants are below minor; making up only 2-4% of the overall quality of. Despite what i've spoken on, still see the film.....it's worth it.

story: A-
overall: A

possibly one if not the current best movie adaptation thusfar.

It was ok.

Ya know man trying to compare the cartoon to the movie is an utter waste....

Personally is one of the best adaptations thus far....
