so today i was in court for my accident on April 25th. i came in around 8:20, but i found out there is a 'No Shorts' rule... guess what i had on. we tried looking for a cop that could let me in, no one showed up (my karma), so i raced home. i lit the streets up riding at 20 mph over the speed limit (65 mph). i cut the trip time in half. i changed pants and came back. it was 8:45.

the courtroom just opened, i got lucky. i made it perfectly on time. there were 4 groups on people in line. that took about 20 minutes. afterwards, the judge came in. he explained everything to us about court stuff. and we were all given out handouts (i scanned mine below), and we took a recess. no dodgeball was played.

more people were coming in late, which concerned me because i thought court was supposed to be important. this went on for an hour. finally the judge came back in. after another hour or so, it was my turn. ironic, no; i was one of the early ones, and one of the last to leave.

i pleaded no contest and i had no histories, so i got the usual vehicular charge: pay 140 bucks. if i pay there, which i did, i got unsupervised probation. i have no idea what unsupervised probation is, but im not in jail, so i am happy. and so, i beat the police.

Good thing my dad can't see this. He'd probably chew you out for trying to walk in with shorts(he's an ex-cop, did work in a courtroom for years). Haha, my dad always tells funny stories about idiots he has pulled over years ago.

i didn't know there was a 'No Shorts' rule; it was my first time in court. i know ignorance of the law isn't and excuse, but being a n00b to court is ;_;

lumi, i am nowhere near the monetary range to go to a formal dinner party. besides, i was a court n00b, we always mess up in some way, shape, or form.
and besides, they have 3 forks and knives and spoons; one is just good! and you have less stuff to wash. you know your informal when you say what i just said. >.> etiquette classes, sorry all. they gave them to us in my summer camp...
i mean, who cares if the forks are on the left, spoons on the right, knives on the far right, and drinks above the knives. just gimme a 5 dollar all-you-can-eat buffet and LNT is happy.

Damn, I hate when I get misinterpreted. That's not what I mean at all, I mean t that one would never attend an esteemed social function in apparel as casual as shorts. Courtrooms are very distinguished, and thus require non-casual attire.
