nice, i heard of blue dragon (kinda wanna play it. im not a big rpg person), but now there is more? cool!

blueboy - February 28, 2007 08:12 AM (GMT)
exclusives? hah, that word's meaningless these days. i surely wouldn't b surprised if a few months after blue dragon's release there'd b a ps3 version in the works.

so long as sony's willing to fork over the cash.....they'd get their hands on it also.

Dark kunoichi - February 28, 2007 01:26 PM (GMT)
Just amazing!! ^^ By the way, I've read somewhere it will release on December 2007

Mistwalker is heavily funded by Microsoft, so unless Sony Buys Mistwalker, it wont happen... ;)

with ps3 sales, i agree. its improbable.

not necessarily so. PS3 is only one branch of Sony, much as x360 is only one branch of Microsoft. i've heard that Mistwalker's on some rough terms with Sony still, but that doesn't rule out the possiblilty of.

besides, "blue dragon" nor "lost oddesy" is not the "identity" of microsoft, "Halo" is. with that said, along with the tech specs being nearly identical between both systems, the production company itself could either stick with microsoft, or when their contract terms have expired, can choose to produce a similar/port for sony's PS3 if a possiblity of demand and "future profit/credibility" has been established.

these days, if you've more than enough funding/money, nearly anything can be achieved...this is the sad truth. :(

btw, i'm not blasting anyone, just voicing a thought....

Xion - March 1, 2007 04:32 AM (GMT)
true blueboy, but you also mentioned just why these games wont be on 360...i mean c'mon, people argue over MGS4 not coming to 360, when that actually seems likely

regardless, as it stands these are all 360 exclusives and likely waill stay that way, in case you havent noticed, microsoft is quite adept at exclusivity this time around

blueboy - March 1, 2007 04:36 AM (GMT)
yup, if sony doesn't get its act together with their wonky console, konami'll most likely produce a port via x360 in order to recoup their potential percentage losses.

edit:
lol, hell...i'd be adept too if i knew i've the opportunity to capitalize over the competition to stay ahead of the game.

well, monster hunter 2 did make some payday. with 700,000 games sold in its first week, the game is racking up money. its propelling the psp up the charts. and sony wants to release it here and in Europe (september), so if we get the same sales like in japan, then 2.1 million expected games sold is really good

Xion - March 1, 2007 05:49 AM (GMT)
lets leave this back to a Lost Odyssey discussion, i dont want this to turn into a sony vs Microsoft thing ok

need not worry, we're not planning on anything of the sort. in either case, i'm looking foward to "oddesy" an "dragon", as it gives the x360 a longer "lifeline" along with strengthening microsoft's partnership in japan.

(edit)
an the x360 needs any an all support that it can gather. :)

That is actually very true. Sony hasn't been able to hold down too many titles as of late. The people at Capcom kinda hinted at the fact that DMC could possibly make it to 360 due to the success of Dead Rising(it's not likely, but the fact that they pulled that card is noice).

janejana - March 4, 2007 07:43 AM (GMT)
heh, that guy in those screenshots is a cutie. ^^

on the topic of game exclusivity, i do believe that Sony is not ponying up the cash to get/keep exclusives; they're banking on their reputation as the 'industry leader' to attract developers. though i imagine that could change soon -- i honestly think that Sony was caught off-guard by MS's aggressive approach in obtaining gaming properties, and since Sony no longer has the massive user base of the ps2 as a selling point, they'll have to do something if they want to keep their exclusives...exclusive.

Lost Odyssey to release this Christmas!!! from 1Up

user posted image

"Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi revealed that Lost Odyssey, the second RPG from Sakaguchi's Mistwalker Studios, would ship this Christmas simultaneously in Japan and the United States. This simultaneous release comes as no big surprise, as Lost Odyssey seems to be more targeted toward a Western audience. Some of the proof of this can be found in Lost Odyssey's lip-syncing; the game is being lip-synced with English actors and the Japanese will be dubbed. Additionally, Sakaguchi said that the U.S. release of Blue Dragon is currently slated for an August release."

blueboy - March 6, 2007 09:53 PM (GMT)
ah, maybe all games such as these should be english lipsynced....that way they're guaranteed to have a US release.

thankx for the info x.

Here are some additional screenshots, nothing is new but its worth having here

In Lost Odyssey the player takes control of Kaim, a man who has been sentenced to live for 1,000 years. Gameplay revolves around the many generations of which Kaim is a part of, his loves and losses and conflicts of a world nearing a "mystical industrial revolution". Lost Odyssey's story is being penned by the award winning Japanese novelist, Kiyoshi Shigematsu who is working directly with the game's producer Hironobu Sakaguchi on the story sequences. Heading up the artistic demands of the title is famed Japanese comic artist, Takehiko Inoue, while famed composer Nobuo Uematsu has been recruited to create a more contemporary soundtrack. Mistwalker is developing the title, but code work has been outsourced to a studio named Feel Plus, a subsidiary of Microsoft created specifically to aid Mistwalker. Former Square employees at Microsoft are also involved.

If the X-Box 360 can do this, who needs a PS3? PS3 is gonna die, something serious.
