If you havent heard about it at the end of july, your hearing it now. wdoa-k news here, to fill you in first (or as close to first as possible. plus, i havent scene this mentioned in here before anyway)

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6154961.html

E3 as we know it will basicly be hacked and slashed like a Ninja Gaiden baddie. To put it in short, E3 '07 will be about 1/12 the size as it was of E3 '06. i base this on this fact:
*e3 '06 - 60,000 people
*e3 '07 - 5,000 people

Game companies like Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, and THQ actually pushed for a smaller E3. Why? Simple, business ethics. The cost of running E3 and making profits clashed, and profits was the loser. Companies wern't making money outta E3, so they downsized it. Smaller event, less swag to get, less to see from game companies. Companies are gonna put less in E3 so they can start making profits from what thier getting outta E3. And now smaller companies wont even be a part of E3. Why? E3 '07 WILL BE INVITE ONLY!!!

If anyone needs a shoulder to cry on, im here. But if i see tears on my shirt, Im kicking your butt >.>

One last thing, (here is something that confuses me) E3's name is now "E3 Expo." If E3 ment 'Electronic Entertainment Expo,' whats the 3rd 'e' for?

Yeah, this was fresh news a few weeks back.

wasn't it just a rumor a few weeks ago, technically? so--so it's kind of timely? right?

i'm sad. what's going to happen to Kentia Hall and all of those poor Korean developers with their crazy Korenglish mobile phone games and illogical peripherals? will they get invites? WILL THEY?!

Well, it was also confirmed a few weeks back as well. But, yeah, I get your drift; he isn't too off. :heh heh:

I wouldn't be surprised about the Korean devs getting invites. lol But I was under the impression that the invites were referring to the media, not the devs/publishers.

WOE IS ME... IM BEING STABBED MORE THAN SOMEONE IS A JASON MOVIE!! >.> and im not emo >.<

the invite category is sketchy. im not sure who specificly falls in that category. but im sure its to the 5,000.

oh. i was just thinking that since E3 has always been a 'closed' convention that making it invite-only for non-developers would be redundant.

Well, I know for a fact that working at GameStop warrents you a chance to get in...even though they're useless to getting that info out.

Maybe they'll just invite journalists and such this time around.

Well as long as we still got all the great news items every year I don't mind, it's not like I was ever gonna go there anyway.
