Title: Separating voices from sound
Queen Helena - March 1, 2006 11:18 PM (GMT)
Is it possible to do that, I’m probably not making much sense at all lol
I have a few music files that have background voices in them, I want to get rid of them so I just have the music left, is that possible? And if so, does anyone know what I need to do, what program to use?

You CANNOT seperate voice from music cleanly. The only way to do that "karaoke"-effect is to cut certain frequencies in a song. But this WILL affect other instruments using the same frequency too.
You can use like every sound software that is able to cut or boost frequencies, for that matter even the cheesy equalizer included in your audio playback software.
I lack a good software hint for that purpose, that's free and stuff.
But you'll probably find something easy to use if you search for 'karaoke software' or something on google.

By the way, if you use some filesharing client you could try searching an instrumental version of the song. Popular songs are often available as instrumental versions too.

oh no it's nothing like that
I have some rare anime songs that are unavailabe, I have the mp3 versions but they still have the background voices in them, I'm trying to find a way to remove the voices so I only have the music left, but I don't think it's going to work
But thanks for your help
