Title: Ninja Gaiden Black
Description: Those who have it:your thoughts
ayane's boyfriend - October 9, 2005 11:42 PM (GMT)
I bought this Ninja Gaiden black a week ago, and I'm very impressed by it. I really like the mission mode, it's like they pulled out all of the stops and said", let's see how hard we can make this." So that makes for hours of fun.
I also like how hard is actually different from normal, not just more enemies, but harder enemies.
Also more cut scenes, tells the story better, and the weapons, like that Lunar.
I also like how the costume menu works, way cool.
Overall, this game was well worth buying a second time, but that's just me, please post what you feel about the game, good or bad.

Sorry to rain your parade, but your sig is still to big.
430x130.
Like I said right click and properties.
I have the game, its awsome! Missions are hard as hell and Lunar is my savior!
ayane's boyfriend - October 10, 2005 12:08 AM (GMT)
I don't care about the sig, I'll change it, PM me though to let me know. Here, I just want your thoughts on NGB.
Now, I want real discussions, WHAT did you like about it. It's considered spaming when people give 2 word answers to a question that could require an essay to write (but you don't have to write one) just say what you liked and why. Thank you.
Dan - October 10, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
The diffuculty and the CG scenes. Its all that counts in the game!
The booses are hard! And the minis does not help it!
Soprry but gtg
janejana - October 10, 2005 02:53 AM (GMT)
what i like...pretty much everything :D
but to be more specific:
-mission mode: BEST THING EVER
-Ryu clone fights. sublimely awesome.
-differences between the various difficulty levels are much more defined. in the original game hard didn't really seem that much different from normal.
-plasma saber without the ninja of the future suit ^^
-new cutscenes
stuff i didn't like:
-no intercept move :/
-no successive play
but yeah. definitely worth the buy, especially at $30. :D

You're kinda demanding for a new member. You wanted his thoughts, so he gave it to you. You didn't ask for a 100 word reply, so you can't really expect one from everyone...
ayane's boyfriend - October 10, 2005 10:24 AM (GMT)
Nothing is worse than when people leave a lame 5 word answer, )please elaborate on what you say, it kills the conversation if you don't), and when they post just to give another member crap, that's what the PMs are for. Take your post for example, I can see that you have no opinion of the game there, this should've been PMed to me. I can't stand it when people feel the need to embarass me when and any oppurtunity arises, and when it doesn't. From now on, if I see something that I dislike, I say something, people here and in real life seem to have no trouble doing that with me, and they're rude about it too.
Anyways, the floor is still open, please feel free to place what you thought of NGB, thank you.
Mills McDougle - October 10, 2005 12:25 PM (GMT)
Why you took it personal, I don't know. If you wanna try to turn the tables, I'll say this: for you to take such a small thing personally tells me that you're kind of insecure. I'm not trying to embarrass you; that's retarded. This is done with EVERY member, including myself. That's how it's always been done at...just about every forum I've went to, much including this one. That's not gonna change for a scrub member.
And besides, what would be the outcome if I did PM you? You obviously weren't happy with what I said just now; you think I wanna waste space on an arguement? Not exactly.
All I said is don't be so demanding for such fresh meat. I just that's an insult now.
Take all of this with a grain of salt. I'm pretty much the peacekeeper around here. I don't have any problems with any members here. When something needs a statement, I give it, which is not a problem. That's...pretty much my position here since people kind of expect it from me at this point in time. Don't be so touchy, and you'll learn to love me...*ahem* we'll get along well. Just try to help me keep the party lively and don't be so damn pessimistic, eh?
Nevertheless, you're right, I haven't played the game before. Not yet. From everywhere that I've heard, it's better than the first. I do plan to get the game when my money allows me to get another game.

Your taking things to seruisly
@Janajane
I agree completely on the bad stuff! I miss intercept and I miss suceesive, which isnt so bad since I can play CH. 16 over and over and over!

Woah, I have completly forgotten about that thread. I also think that his rudeness does not deserve a suspension, just a talking to. But none the less I will not argue this with you so, I stand by your comment.

His sheer stupidity deserved a one week banning. However, I would never ban someone for being stupid, so I banned him for bossing around other members and arguing over something completely pointless. He was bringing down the IQ of the forum.
Edit: Yep. :).
On topic: I'm probably going to pick it up sometime this week. I already have Ninja Gaiden, but I'm curious to see what the new cinemas, enemies, and difficulties are like.

Got yeah! Like I said I stand by your comment. :)

I'm here to say sorry about any problems or discomfort that I may have caused here. I will do everything in my power to make sure that something like this never happens again. I hope that we can put all this behind us, thank you.
Now while on the topic, those threee worms are a pain aren't they? and that one mission with the tower that you have to take out, who are those guys that look like nightmare from Soul Calibur 2 ? I still think that the game is great.

That...didn't really deserve a ban threat, IMO... >_<
ayane's boyfriend - October 11, 2005 03:56 AM (GMT)
There was no threat, I was banned, but then I explained myself, they allowed me back, all is good now. So any opinions on that great game?
I Ryu Hayabusa I - October 11, 2005 08:37 PM (GMT)
What should i say? It isnt still in stores in Germany :pinch:
But what you´re talking about, the missionmode and so on, listens greatest!
-to myself-
Only12 days left and i´ll rush inside the store.
Ähm, one thing left to say: What exactly is that missionmode(stupid Question, I know :hmm: )
ayane's boyfriend - October 12, 2005 07:38 AM (GMT)
Mission mode is a new feature that's unlocked after beating the game on any difficulty. You're given 10 to begin and to unlock new ones, you must beat 5, then 5 new ones show, and so on. The missions give you different quests that you must do, for example, there's one where you must beat Muri, it's hard because he has minions, there's others like defeat all enemies and such, it really adds a lot to the game.

So, its something like an AddOn? Well, if it is or not, I WILL get this godlike game! :ph43r:
And thx to you, that you explained me what this mission mode is  . I still can´t imagine it so really :hmm: but I will check it, if I´ve got the game :ph43r:

Dark Hayate - October 28, 2005 12:43 PM (GMT)

Then I went to the mentioned Media Markt and found it.
Something's weird here... :pinch:

*Well, well quiet the drama u guys had back there, i personally hate to see memebers getting banned or kicked out....but oh well.....*
Personally i think the game would have rocked but when i bought the game it worked up until chapter 2, then there was some error and i couldn't go any further...mainly cause my xbox lens has an issue and frankly i have issues about getting it fixed since the new lens is expensive.
ryu_tcao0994 - November 30, 2005 02:38 AM (GMT)
Kind of like the normal Ninja Gaiden, but better i must admit. New nice weapons.

One thing that I miss is the ability to "cheat." You know some of those places where you can get endless money/essence with the bats? There's one place in the sewer level in the deep caves where the bats keep coming back and you can get 1000-3000 essence each time you go and kill the easy targets.

It still exist, although at a different place with different enemies.
Example, chapter 9, in the Aquaducts passage before the door which is opened by the insect key and before the Murasama statue, there are respawning yellow and purple demons. I got my essence there for my Unlabored Flawlessness. Just use Lunar and use the ultimate.
Other changes, like Ninja Dog mode. Ayane gives you tons of stuff for free. The bands she gives you, mirrors the armlets you could have bought from Murasama. Then she gives you Rations and Fragrances which mirrors the Elixirs and devil elixirs as well. Ayane talks as well when you read her kunai messages.
The Armlet of Tranquility (the one that replenish health) is strangely missing, even after collecting 40 scarabs. The game also tends to give you more Great Spirit Elixir now.
Bosses-wise, there are some changes. Murai is not so stupid to let you diving swallow vertically off the wall everytime. You can only hit him occassionally now. However, he's still vulnerable to horizontal wall runs diving diving swallow. Dynamo seems to be quicker now. The bone dragon is no longer vulnerable to Windmill shuriken.
ayane's boyfriend - December 1, 2005 09:11 AM (GMT)
Yes, I know about those annoying fiends in the sewer that keep coming back in the hallway before you go fight the electric worm, point is, they may be easy, but those bats in the cave, much easier. That's why I like those living dead guys in the underground level, easy targets, they're slow, so you get time to charge up and they leave tons of essence.
There still is one place that you can get ends essence that's super easy, the enterance to the ice caverns, and it's a nice helping of it too.
I played the ninja dog mode, it's a little boring, the only thing that kept me playing it was to hear how Ayane was going to ridicule Ryu next. Yes, she gives him rice balls nad cheap supplies, but she makes fun of him and scolds him a lot with those notes she throws down (quotes "how are you coming with that bow?" or "have you been eating the rice balls I gave you" or when she dumps on him "a ninja must always be aware of his surroundings, failure is unacceptable"), and she throws you a lot more notes than normal.
One change that's cool, sometimes annoying and helpful is that all of the bosses have minions on hard mode, and the characters that you fight change too, they're upgraded and you get a lot less stuff.
You also fight an evil version of yourself on hard mode.
I Ryu Hayabusa I - December 4, 2005 11:44 PM (GMT)
The Ninja Dog mode? How can I unlock this mode? Can anybody tell me, please? :eyebrow:
And whys the armlett of tranquillity missing?! :pinch: That was my favourite armlet :sadwalk:
janejana - December 5, 2005 12:59 AM (GMT)
you have to die a bunch of times in the first level on normal. after i think...4 or 5 the continue screen will ask if you want to give up (instead of continuing) and just keep saying yes to the 'are you sure?' question.
as far as difficulty goes the enemy AI is roughly the same but you get a lot more healing items and special arm bands from ayane. and muramasa's shop is cheaper.
I Ryu Hayabusa I - December 6, 2005 02:55 PM (GMT)
Huh^^
That sounds cool. Lets try it!
ayane's boyfriend - December 8, 2005 11:20 AM (GMT)
I notice that the enemies are a little bit slower too on ND mode too, and Ayane picks on Ryu and , with that sexy voice, scolds him sometimes.
JWBB - February 2, 2006 09:27 PM (GMT)
Ninja Gaiden Black is great fun, and never gets boring. Just resist throwing the controller through the screen when it get's difficult, unfortunatly that won't help you.
I have to say though, as hard and enjoyable the mission mode is, the confrontations against yourself are just too easy. I have them all finished on Master Ninja, seriously, you will find them easy, perhaps not in story mode though. You are severely handicapped against them in story mode, but they still aren't difficult.
A TIP:
Against the doppelgangers, DON'T give up when your health is nearly depleted! I accidently used up all my elixers and had my health depleted when the Dragon Sword twin was still at 45% health, but I beat him without getting hit! It's pure luck, but you get increased karma for fighting him on your last legs, so, just take the chance. :)
