Linkin Park is pretty far from hardcore rock. They take more of the techno pop rock thing. Guns N' Roses are people you could call hardcore rock. And I hate Slipknot, get some Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Judas Preist or Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath if you wanna be a metal head.
