Title: Far Cry Instincts

Omg it sounds so amazing, and it arrives very soon.

Google it PLEASE and download the trailers.

Anyone who played Far Cry #1 knows that the graphics were awsome and the game was awsome and as for the second on its gonna be even better (this is NOT Far Cry 2, I repeat NOT Far Cry 2)

The only bad thing is that its only for Xbox but I got it :D but Far Cry #1 was for PC and I played it on PC.

Anyway if some of u know this game very well please answer this question:

It dosent seem like we are the same male character are we?

Is it the same Island like in Far Cry #1? (because if its the same character it would be stupid)

Yes, you're still Jack Carter. Yes, Doyle still tells you what's going on. The story's still mostly the same as well. The only thing really different is your primal instincts. Otherwise the vast majority of things are still the same.

Judging from my time with the demo, I will be picking this up, as I'm an avid fan of Far Cry(Random note: the Crytek 2 engine looks REALLY nice :D ). But, there're some things that REALLY need fixing. For one, the AI isn't nearly as bright as they were in the PC version. It could be just the unoptimized demo, though, as they did show some potential. The main thing that bothered me about the AI(other than the stupidity) is that if they spot you, there vision is perfect until they're picked off. They couldn't see you through the foliage in the PC version(if they would lose you, they'd shoot in your general direction, and would continue to do so even after you crept out of that general area). They shouldn't be able to see you through foliage that dense. :p

The other big thing that bothered me was the extreme arcadey feel. It bothered me that you could run-and-gun through all of the demo. Far Cry is a far cry from an arcade experience, and that's the way it's supposed to stay. This version also didn't feel as intense and urgent as the PC version did.

The graphics could be better as well. I know, it's one of the better ooking Xbox titles around, but damn, don't cut corners knowing that. The general grass textures weren't nearly as detailed as the PC version, and the bloom effects are WAY heavy(I thought I'd never complain about bloom... :p). The game also suffers from some seriously low-res textures(most obvious on the grass, the weapons, and the enemy models).

All of this really upset me, as this game has way more potential than this. I'd rather have a port with the new primal effects than this, but this'll do since I don't have much of a choice but to settle for less. I know it'll be great fun, as I enjoy the demo a lot, but damn, shortcuts suck. :p

But is it the same Island and the same Villians, and how did Far Cry #1 End? sorry it such a long time ago since I played it.

where did u get the demo :O

Oki I hope they will start working on Far Cry 2 now

Another question: Is Valleri the same girl as in the first? (what was her storyline in #1?)

Mills McDougle - September 23, 2005 10:46 PM (GMT)
The story line's still the same. They're still on the South Pacific to my konwledge. And, yes, Valerie's still the reason you're fighting these guys.

Heh, and I got the demo from OXM. :boyah:

Oh oki thanks :D

But how did Far Cry 1 End please tell me

Good to see Avid Farcry Fans here, I'm kinda wondering the same as Doffy, how did it end, I never finshed, my only Savegame was amazingly hard, I was backing up at full speed on a swervyroad in one of the cars and it saved while I was doing that, the problem is you have to make a super fast turn with the car or you fall right into a lake right where the savegame is. Heh, anyways, Instincts does dissapoint me greatly, since it's almost the same game over again, but I haven't seen too much about the game to know. Hope it's good

Yeah I mean, y the **** would he stay in the same island that he met those monsters and I thought he killed those villains.

And did it end that he destroyed that island (well thats not an option because y would the island be there now) did he destory the monsters (I guess not)

Ah I just found out what it is now! :D

It's not a new mission, its the same game as Nr 1 but only they modified it and such.

I actually don't mind it being the same game, especially since the Xbox version is so inferior to the PC version from what I've played. :p
