Title: German
Description: If any1 has questions, then ask me ^^

Dark Hayate - August 3, 2005 10:25 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah, I thougt that I open this topic.
Like I said, if anoe has questions about it, then ask me... or Runaway_Shinobi.

Some examples:

Hello - Hallo
How are you? - Wie geht es dir?
Where are you from? - Wo kommst du her?
What's your name? - Wie heißt du?

Those are the first sentences that I've learned at school
I really think that german isn't really interesting... my english is not very good, but when I write something like this in english... I dont know why, but it feels good ^^"

mir geht es sehr gut, danke ;)

Dark Hayate - August 3, 2005 10:56 PM (GMT)
You know Dutch? Oh man, I didn't hear anything dutch yet :hmm:
Oh I see, you're from the netherlands ^^
Do you think that german is ineteresting? Sometimes I hate it, because it's sooo boring!

Multi-lingual people get extra points from me ;) Just like our dearest Helena. She knows French (she just chooses not to speak it!), Japanese, and English.

Can I get a list of most common/prettiest female german names? - Thanks.

I think German is just as interesting as Dutch, meaning not lol, I like to speak English, if it was up to me that would be the only language on the planet ;)

Dark Hayate - August 4, 2005 02:34 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that would be great ^^
@bsu I'll do what I can ;)

Deutsch ist meine erste Fremdsprache. Ich lerne Deutsch seit 8 Jahre aber ich finde das sehr schwer :pinch:

I would be incapable to participate in a forum in German :hmm:

Dark Hayate - August 4, 2005 08:03 PM (GMT)
Your german sounds really good
To learn english isn't as difficult as I thougt. But I'm not very good at speaking english :hmm: I think that I should learn a little bit more :heh heh:

Manwë_Varda - August 4, 2005 08:20 PM (GMT)
Thx ^^
It's easier to write a language than to speak it :hmm:

Dark Hayate - August 4, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that's right :dancebaby:

Lostelei - August 5, 2005 04:55 PM (GMT)
Manwë_Varda's german is in fact very good.
Don't hesitate too much, if you feel like posting on german boards - the best way to learn a language is to actually use it, and most german users are being quite tolerant with foreigners trying to participate.

My German isn't brilliant, I've only had a year of learning it, so I have all the basics and foundations. I've taken French as my final option though. I enjoyed German, my teacher was ace at teaching it. He knows lot's of languages; English, French, Japanese, German, Dutch (I think). Actually, I think he majored in Japanese overall. But I thought, I've done 3 years of French, I'd prefer to learn a whole school 5 years of it and get as much as possible, rather than have 3 years of each. I like German though, it's a great language.

I hope he can teach me Japanese when he has time.

Manwë_Varda - August 5, 2005 05:11 PM (GMT)
Haha Danke Lostelei :D, aber das ist nur ein Satz...
Außerdem ist das lange her, daß ich keine deutsche ausgeübt habe, also ich helfe mir mit einen translator... :heh heh:

Dark Hayate - August 5, 2005 06:05 PM (GMT)
You're cheating
@Lostelei: I have no chance to use english, because I don't know anyone who wants to speak with me in english :pinch: And my classmates are just fools. Most of them are really good at school, but when I ask them to speak with me in english, they just don't want it. They say it's too troublesome... :hmm:

Lostelei - August 5, 2005 10:55 PM (GMT)
Well, you're posting at an english board, so you are already using it. communicating directly by IM or something is more difficult and I was really insecure about that at first.
But it's even better training, I found.
In real life I never really used english, except in the english classes, but - well, our english education is ridiculous, doesn't teach what you really need to be able to talk to someone... =0

:heh heh: yes indeed :heh heh:
But the translator is not very reliable for German then I have to work again the sentence so that it is correct :)
And.... I use it for english too :heh heh:

Hunter_Divine - September 20, 2005 08:12 AM (GMT)
Yeah, german is quite boring. At least if you are german! I was so excited learning english at school, and I thought it was quite easy! I know, my english is quite a bit... shabby at some point, but I really enjoy speaking foreign languages! If you got some things you might like to know in german don't hesitate to ask!

Have fun, with or without translating tool! ;)

Oh, wow, what an interesting thread! :boyah: It's great that we have so many bilingual people here. To know more than your home language is pwnage. Heh, I never would've thought that some of the people here didn't use English outside of these forums. Lostelei, for example, seems right out of America. Ditto for Queen Helena(irrelevant shout-out: his Lara Croft forums pwn hard; props to Pink_Oracle and himself :boyah:).

Damn, I can't wait to learn Japanese. :hmm:

PS Hey, the thread title says I replying in German! Am I the man, or what?!1
