Title: Why won't my PS2 connect to the internet?

You think it's because I'm using an Xbox Ethernet cord?...

That would probably be it. But mabey its kuz PS2's suck.

SNAP!!! IN JO FACE!!!!!!!!!

I haven't tried connecting my PS2 before, what do you need? (a miracle by the looks of things...)

Mills McDougle - April 18, 2005 11:52 AM (GMT)
Well, honestly, I don't see the huge difference between a regular ethernet cord and an Xbox one; they look and(technically) act virtually the same. :p

SimonSamoorye - April 18, 2005 02:11 PM (GMT)
Do you have to set it up like you do with XBOX or do you just plug it in??

Mills McDougle - April 18, 2005 05:25 PM (GMT)
It's basically set up the exact way my Xbox gets set up. I only have one ethernet card, so I connect through USB, and the cord goes from whatever console I'm using to my ethernet card. I think I may just opt out and buy a regular to see the result. Hope they aren't expensive...

have you checked this?

Q: I have a DSL or Cable modem that connects to my PC through the USB port. Can I connect to a USB connector on the PlayStation 2 system using this connection?

A: Unfortunately, no. The PlayStation 2 system will only be able to support a network connection with the Network Adaptor by either plugging an analog modem line into the LINE connector or an Ethernet cable into the NETWORK connector.

you'd better to get router.

Mills McDougle - April 18, 2005 08:04 PM (GMT)
No, no, that's not what I was saying. lol My PC's cable connection goes through my USB port. My PS2 and computer are hooked up through my Xbox ethernet plug. :)

You do have the PS2 Network Adapter right? If not, then that could be the problem..

I have the flat PS2, if they answers your question. :D

Yes it does. I just bought one last week. :D.

anyway, i can't see why you don't wanna use router or hub.

Mills McDougle - April 19, 2005 12:08 PM (GMT)
...because I'm cheap and won't buy one if I don't need to... :heh heh:
