Wow, dude. C'mon, really? Eminem is a hip-hop legend. Have you even heard his music? Or are you still listening to the media back in the days of the Marshall Mathers LP? And even then real hip-hop artists gave Eminem his respect. He packs some of the most talent the industry has to offer right now. Listen to The Eminem Show and Encore. Hell, listen to D12 World while you're at it.
I can only respect someone here not liking Eminem's music if they have a solid reason. But for anyone to say that he makes the industry look bad, his music is whack, blah, blah, etc. is naive(to be light). State why you don't like him if you don't agree with his music for any reason, don't blindly take stabs with false accusations.
*blows steam* OK, I'm calm now. :) I rate him a 10. The guy is sick; there's no way around that.

anubis - April 9, 2005 08:20 AM (GMT)

Mills McDougle - April 9, 2005 08:31 AM (GMT)
Not that it's relevant, but are you Asian, by any chance?

chezza - April 9, 2005 11:15 AM (GMT)
i don't listen to any music of these kinds- rap, hip hop, dance, techno, pop. give me some heavy metal any day
No_Doubt - April 9, 2005 01:23 PM (GMT)
I would give him a 5. In my opinion, he's a has-been.
SimonSamoorye - April 9, 2005 02:43 PM (GMT)
It all went downhill after the Slim Shady LP.
I respect the old Eminem music and his sucess as a popstar today.
I don't like his new music though, too serious compared to his
old material. And all his new 'funny' tunes are just plain stupid. :yucky:
Mills McDougle - April 9, 2005 03:10 PM (GMT)
So that means you haven't heard Encore yet...
So how does he make the hip-hop industry look bad? Because you don't like his serious music anymore? And what makes him a has-been?
SimonSamoorye - April 9, 2005 08:01 PM (GMT)
I have heard Encore and it's rather crap in my opinion.
He's not a has-been because everyone seems to love him, but in my opinion it's rappers like Eminem, 50 Cent, Chingy, Cassidy, Jay-Z that make Hip-Hop as a musical culture look all bling-blingy and/or dipressed.
It's got nothing to do with the industry.
Good Hip-Hop in 2005: DJ Format, People Under The Stairs, The Lootpack (Madlib, DJ Romes, Wildchild).
Mills McDougle - April 11, 2005 01:48 PM (GMT)
So it seems like this is all based upon opinion, then, right?
SimonSamoorye - April 11, 2005 01:49 PM (GMT)
Well, yeah, of course...From the bit where I said 'Eminem makes Hip-Hop look bad' that's my opinion :)

No need to apoligize Mills, some people are too nice on this forum, It gets boring after a while... :hmm:
Mills McDougle - April 11, 2005 02:20 PM (GMT)
Hah! Guess I don't fit in that category.
Heh, but honestly, I feel that I come off too strong in response to a lot of your replies, so I try to lighten up when I can.
Queen Helena - April 11, 2005 02:42 PM (GMT)
I really don't like him !! his music isn't horrible but I don't like it so I gave him a 2 because I don't hate his music
JWBB - April 22, 2005 03:41 PM (GMT)
I don't and never have like his music by the fact that I don't like:
Rap
Hip-Hop
Heavy Metal
Punk
R+B (It depends)
But I moved him up to a 2 because of 'Stan' and 'Toy Soldiers'.
Ayu rules!

What can i say, Em's got some nice beats. I don't listen to him on the norm, yet his lyrics are funny always!
As for hip-hop, i think it died in the early 90's......i say this because back in the 80's, it had meaning. Nowadays, it mostly reflects upon the same scenario.....women, bling, and a whole lot of "nothing".

I can agree with that to an extent. But, in all actuality, even if Em talks about the same things, it's either to amuse, or touch on something that nobody else does. Listen to Mosh, Crazy In Love, Mockingbird, and Like Toy Soldiers in his Encore CD. Also listen to some of his tracks from The Eminem Show. His tracks have meaning, and you NEVER hear him talk about bling, cars, women(kinda), etc.
Nas is another example. You MUST listen to Nas' music! :D
Sexeh Kitteh - April 22, 2005 07:53 PM (GMT)
Eminem is in no way a has been, nor is there a reason to HATE his music...unless you're against the "message" it sends (which is crap)
Gave him a 9. cause Outkast is my fav
Queen Helena - April 22, 2005 10:45 PM (GMT)
his new video makes me laugh, he looks so stupid  oh sorry :)
