Ok the title might sound rediculous but I'm gonna go over alot of the Characters Moves and post them her for other members to see. Also for beginner DOA players can check in here. First lesson---
Lesson 1) The way you move
The best control layout for the X-Box I have come across. Go into options, Controls and select Free Settings.
L Trigger- K+F
R Trigger- F+P+K
Leave everything else alone.
L Trigger... What's so good about having K+F there?
Reason- Do you really want to reach for X+B on your Controller? No you don't. Every character has a different set move for F+K. So you want to be able to reach for it without pressing both X and B.
R Trigger- Why?
Reason- During Tag Battle Matches this is good to have. So you do noyt have to press the Black Button. You can leave your thumb on the action buttons at all time so you have the upper hand at speed when switching between Chatacters and combining high and deadly combo's.
Lesson 2) A true warrior trains...
The one mode you'll be spending your time in is Sparring mode. Take this mode for granted. It wasn't put there by Tecmo for their own health.
First Character Today is Ein!
Ein is basically all more about power than speed and timing. 68 moves in total and plenty of combo's to combine with the moves. So how do you use Ein effectivily? Ein isn't a close range combat fighter like Jann Lee or anyone else. He does Karate which is a long range martial art like Hitomi. The main thing you want to learn how to do is stun your opponents with Ein then bash them up into the air and pull of a combo that takes half of their Stamina.
:right: P will make Ein do a smack in your opponents face which will stun him/her for a brief moment. Same with  P which will make Ein do a Downward punch then you can pull of :diagdownright: :diagdownright: K and knock them into the air. Kicking and punching the crap out of your opponent in mid air is called Juggling. Old proverb from Street Fighter. Another way to knock your opponent into the air you can do :diagupleft: K. This is a much more slower move. You can combine it with PPP or do PP :right: PP or PP :right: PK to pull of a 5 hit combo. Depends on the weight of the Character you facing.
Combo's with Ein-
:left:+P  + K P *pause* PP :right: PK- 7 Hit Combo
PP :right: PP *pause for 1 sec* :diagdownright: :diagdownright: K then imediatly hit PP :right: PK- 7 Hit combo
:diagdownleft: +K P PP :right: PK- 6 Hit Combo
+P *Move Foward Quick* :diagdownright: :diagdownright: K PP :right: PK- 6 Hit Combo
Think you can make up more? I'll put up some more later. Untill then... peace...
Lesson 3) Stop grabbing me!
Grabbing is a pain in the neck and also deals in great timing. You may want to grab your opponent and you'll see your fighters hand go right through him. Well let's just say that gives him a better chance at grabbing you. Don't ask why it does that. He could be standing straight in front of you and the grab will not register. But how to get out of a grab is what I am aiming at here.
When your opponent successfully grabs you hit the Grab button at the same time as your opponent does and you will escape the grab. This advanced technique is the hardest and most hardest thing to do in DOAU. Takes out most timing and reflex. You have to hit grab before even the grab starts almost.
-Stratagy Based Manuver-
Let's say you opponent is not letting you hit him so your only option is to block. Gives him a chance to grab you and take half your stamina. But how is this good? Trickery^^. When he grabs (you should know he should) hit the grab button immediatly and this give you enough time to knock him the hell out after the grab has been cancelled.
Lesson 4) Counter Based attacks
Countering in DOAU is more difficult to perform from the confusion of the Mid Kick and Mid Punch counters. Trying to counter all day is saying "Grab me I wanna loose". And no it's impossible to cancel a counter. If your being countered you might as well watch your fighter get banged up. And possibly even watch him loose even though half of your stamina is gone. G@y right? Here are a quick few notes for you noobies out there.
:left: Free -Mid Punch Counter Only
:right: Free- Mid Kick Counter Only
:diagupleft: Free- Counters High Kick and High Punch
:diagdownleft: Counters Low Kick and Low Punch
-Hitting P by itself is a High Punch.
-Hitting :right: P is a Mid Punch
-Hitting :right: K is a Mid Kick
-Hitting K by itself is a High Kick
Remember these when it comes to fighting.
