This cool RPG hits the stores starting February 15th! I hope my cousin will get this because if he doesn't I'm gonna raid his dorm until he does. I loved the first and can't wait much longer for the second one! The graphics look a lot better this time around.

My Xenosaga fevor ended during the wait for the sequal. You have to give me a good reason to buy the title.

Hmm....that's gonna be a tough one. Maybe because Shion looks better in this one than the first? More of the plot will be revealed? Maybe you're a religious dude who would point out every single reference to the Bible?

eh, i'm kind of ambivalent--people who have imported the JPN version have been pretty disappointed, and these are the hardcore Xenogeeks we're talking about--the ones who not only point out the Biblical references but write essays about them, too.

is it going to be priced at $50 when it first comes out?

if it is, i think i might wait a bit before picking it up. :x

For me, it'll be the sequal to the first one...and nothing more. I'm not a hardcore fan of the series, yet i do like the rpg title....so i will make my purchase when it's released. From there, i'll need to find the time to play it.

The reason why it took so long was b/c when the PS2 came out they started working on and completed the series with the same character models, battle system etc... when it came with part 1, part 2 was supposta come out shortly after. But, they noticed that the characters expressions were limited and and they wanted to improve the battle system as well.
So basically they had to remake part 2-6.

I think the same way. Although I'm not those geeks who point out every religious reference (I didn't even know they actually had those in there), I love the RPG style. It's like playing FF without playing the actual game. I love how they're using a totally new graphic engine for the game. Shion looks older than 22 without her glasses and taller height. I almost didn't recognize Chaos and MOMO. But sadly, Jr. (Rubedo) and Albedo look the same....

No. Reason is because of the CG Cinema's. In the first title there was over 50 minutes worth of Movies and not much of Game Play. I beat the game with the level of 55 because I stayed in one spot fighting Gnosis. The gameplay isn't very long. Just pass all the Cinema's and play the game. It will take you a day to beat. That is why the sequal took so long because they are too busy developing the CG movies rather than the gameplay being long.

from what i've heard the cutscenes are not going to be as lengthy as the first one.

however, gameplay has been simplified even more. :hmm:

Well watching the CG movies in the game is just like watching the CG movies in Halo. I don't really see a problem in the length of them. A CG movie is a CG movie. If you want to watch some other long CG movies, play the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games

This game is a real disappointment.

Dark, the only way to beat XS1, in 24 hours, is to go through the game, not watch a single scene, as few battles as possible, no secrets, no extras, nothing. And, BTW, the first had FAR more than 50 minutes. Try 8 hours. Anyway....

Episode two is great, but has several severe drawbacks.

New look. This is not bad to everyone, but I bought XS1 mainly for its anime style. XS2 kicks that out the window.

New VAs. Now, the new ones are great, but they do not do the job of the old VAs.

New Char Developement. That is, there isn't much. It's all gone.

Short length. I beat disc one in 15 hours.

Now, this is not to say the game doesn't rock, I love it. But I consider XS1 to be one of the top 3 RPGs of all time. XS2 won't make that cut. But, its story is great. The first disc deals with Jr.'s story, which I love. You get to see Albedo grow into the maniac he is now.

I'm glad I don't own a PS2 then because I would've purchased it.

The game isn't THAT big of a disappointement. It is a bit disapointing, but it is still worth the 50 bucks. Especially if you are a fan of XS1.

I heard this game wasn't as good as it should've been.

i heard xeno 2 was almost as dissapointing as DMC2

Well I guess it's a good thing that I don't have a PS2. I guess getting Star Wars: Republic Commando for PC was a way better choice

The game was a disappointment for me too. Not enough KosMos for me. She is my favorite character. Too much Junior. I'm not that fond of him. I do like Albedo though. I love bad guys that are just totally nuts.

I like the new look though. Shion looks cuter in the new look. What the really need to do is go back to Xenogears gameplay. Xenogears game play was awesome. If you haven't played Xenogears, play it now!!! It's better than Xenosaga 1 and 2.
