Q: Have you ever considered making the DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball girls more proportionally accurate, i.e., realistic?

A: No. I'm sure you don't want to be woken up to reality while you're in the game world, right?

Q: Where do you shop for clothes?

A: I don't shop for clothes for myself.

Q: If you could visit any time period for a vacation—including the future—when and where would it be?

A: I'd head south.

Q: I spend too much money going out and drinking. What should I do to remedy this?

A: Huh? Is there something wrong with that?

Q: What are some really good ideas for a first date? Where should I take her? What happens when I run out of things to say to her?

A: Let the girl talk while you keep your mouth shut.

Q: How do I, politely or otherwise, tell my roommate to stop clipping his toenails in the living room?

A: How do you expect to live the rest of your life if you can't even figure that out? When you complain to someone, keep it short and be authoritative. If your roommate still doesn't get it, just forget about it! Otherwise, you're wasting your life.

Q: Agree or disagree: Your successes as a game developer have gone to your head.

A: I've never been calmer than when I finished Ninja Gaiden.

Q: Do you dream in color?

A: Yeah, they're mostly orange.

Q: What are your thoughts on Halo 2—arguably the single most important game for the Xbox yet?

A: Halo 2 needs more complex actions. What I mean by that is, if you're going to have the Master Chief swing the energy sword, you need to implement some combo attacks. I shared my opinion with the Bungie guys at E3.

Q: What—in your humble opinion—is the difference between Japanese people and Americans?

A: Arrogance.
