Hi... I'm probably very different than a lot of you. I work for Gigex.com as Senior Editor and I've been in the gaming journalism industry for about 8 years now. That includes going to the last 6 E3s and I'll be going to E3 2004 this year as well.
I play a lot of games because it's part of my job, but this has caused me not to "enjoy" a lot of games. I don't review games harshly or anything, but very few games will get my attention at this point. I've really limited myself to fighting games as my genre of choice.
A few years ago, I thought I was the bomb at Tekken 3. I had won a few local tournaments, and I went to E3 '98 and did pretty well in the Tekken 3 tournament there. I thought I was the greatest for a few years until about 4 months before Tekken 4 released. There was a new local tournament with people I had never played with before, plus a special guest from Cali. To make a long story short, I was completely owned and that tournament served as a wake up call for me. The high level players took me under their wing, and when Tekken 4 released, with their help I went to a lot of national tournaments and become of the best in Tekken 4 (I'd say around the top 50 in the US).
Because of this, I come off as boasting my skill. I now see people saying they're the bomb because they can beat all of their friends, and I remember how I used to be like that. So I try to explain to them that they probably aren't as good as they think they are. A lot of times people just think I'm being stupid and start flaming me for boasting about my fighting game knowledge.
Until now I've just had to put up with it because there's no easy way to show someone that there's a whole new level of skill out there well beyond anyone they've ever played. When DoAU releases, I'll finally be able to show people what high level play is all about.
Unfortunately, I haven't played DoA in over 3 years. When I did play, I thought I was good, but that was before I learned what good really was. So now I've picked up DoA3 to train myself before DoAU releases, but I don't have anyone to play against. So my training is all in Sparring Mode for the most part. I've had some help in understanding some of the more in-depth points of Dead or Alive's fighting system, and I think I'm pretty good for not having played in 3 years.
Come June, we'll find out just how good I am... or just how bad I am. No matter what happens, after I've been online for a couple weeks, I'll start to learn how human opponents react to different strategies and my level of skill should increase tenfold. I'm looking forward to this game...!

I see, well I may not be any good a Tekken  But I rule at Bloody Roar Xion, Yugo, Long, Shina it doesn't matter who I pick. The down side is that for some reason Bloody Roar 4 was not made for Live play  On the up side I dont have Live for xbox or ps2 so I guess I really shouldn't be complaning

Bloody Roar isn't very popular when compared to Tekken and DoA, that's probably one of the reasons why it didn't get the Live treatment.
Are you planning on getting Live before DoAU hits?

Well I plan on getting Live before Ninja Gaiden comes out however I'm a little sort in the green stuff right now so it will be sometime soon I hope :hmm:

Shadow Raider II get Live you won't regret it! Its the best online service for the game consoles right now. One time I played Project Gotham Racing 2 on Live for at least 10 hours; I didn't even realize the time until I looked at the clock!
