ok you guys in chapter 7 after you kill the boss youll get a life of the gods but also in that level i got another of the blue orbs so i only need 2 of the little kanji left. if i use the life of the gods will it only go in the two spaces???

wait a minute I don't think you get a LOTG after you beat Alma (ch. 7) ??? She doesn't drop anything.
Also in your post, LOTG=blue orbs (they're the same thing)
I thnk what you wanna say is "Lives of the Thousand Gods" and "Life of the Gods" (correct me if I'm wrong)
The first one looks like a chain of blue crystals, and will light up all 9 kanji at once when used.
The second one is a blue orb, and will light up only 1 kanji.
1 "Lives of the Thousand Gods" will instantly boost your health.
you need to collect 9 "Life of the Gods" to boost your health.
you can use them in any order, at any time. It doesn't matter.
SRY WROTE IT WRONG YOU GET THE LIFE OF A THOUSAND GODS WHEN YOU BEAT THE SKELETON.

If you use the one the skeleton dropped, it will fill up 9 kanji (the 2 you have left, and the next 7) ... so you will get a health boost, and have 2 more spaces left, just like before you used it.
Use them all as soon as you get them, there's no harm.

btw, I forgot to tell you. Later in Ch.7, you will end up back in the Monk's Room.
If you really, really, need a kanji, open up the monk's safe again. (remember how? ;) ) . You'll find a blue orb inside. Some of my friends miss this because they think they opened the safe once before and there's nothing inside, but there is.
