This is a guide I put together for playing as Tina, in DOA3. It contains a strategy for every character in the game.
Things to Note:
When I say Computer, I mean the difficulty is on Very Hard. I'm also assuming the average player is equivalent to the AI of the computer. This guide is not for taking on expert players, and I don't want anyone to get angry and say they would never do what I described there character as doing, because its based on how the computer would play.
ALSO
This guide is for the standard Xbox default settings, and when I wrote it I used actual Xbox buttons, not confusing FPK crap. So if you need a legend look below.
Damage Rate is assumed you’re at default; each character will die after sustaining 240 points of damage. It is recommended that when you fight human players match win is set at 5 rounds, and life largest.
Button Legend
Y= Punch
B= Kick
X= Counter
A= Throw
Right Trigger= Strong Kick
Black= Counter+Punch+Kick
White= Punch+Kick
Note, when a + is used the move must be done simultaneously and when , is used it is with a pause.

Combat Strategies
Here is a list of what I feel are Tina's best moves, and any player should master.
Leg Cut:
:diagdownleft: , B (Total 30)
This attack will knock your opponent to the ground.
Ground Throw
:down: , A (Total 30)
This will be one of your most useful attacks; it can be done an any angle of you opponent.
Flying Body Attack
(back against wall) :left: + white (total 45)
This move not only looks amazing, but is powerful and a life save. If your cornered this will provide a quick escape and hard hit.
Giant Swing
If on ground, press :right: + A and quickly A again to perform giant swing. (Total 80) or
While Standing :left: , :right: , A (total 80)
The throw that will win you the game.
Bison Head Stomp
(Note this is called Shining Wizard in the game, but its basically a move M. Bison does in Street Fighter 2)
(While Running) A (total 55)
This move will knock your opponent down, and is fast enough to work from long distance.
I'll let you use your imagination on working these moves into combos ^_^ I also don't want to give you any ideas about attacking me with my own moves :D
And on a side note... w00t buttons own :up: I may have to steal them, despite the fact there from SCII, there just so cool :D
Stage Handicaps
I like to think of Tina as a tiny tank. She excels in stages with Walls.
If you fight in the XOCTAGON (stage with electric fence) you pretty much have won the game already.
Simply Giant Swing or Shining Wizard your opponent into the wall and use a Ground Throw congrats, the match is yours.
Tina VS:
Ayane
Ayane is fast. Very fast. But, she fights on a hit and run bases. I encourage you to destroy her with your superior strength. Wear her out with a throw, and ground throw or two. Then play defense, counter her if possible. In the event you succeed in doing this early in the match, then just proceed to mercilessly pummeling her.
Bass
Ah Tina's father. Fighting him is always a guessing game. If you attack him, he will counter you, if you’re to slow he will throw you. This will be difficult to keep the fight under control. I recommend throwing him, then attacking with a series of different Punch and Kick Combos. And when I say different, hit him in different places, (high, low, then middle, high, low middle, etc) but try never to use the same combo twice, this will leave him confused, and counter less.
Bayman & Leon
They are both stronger then you, and both want to grapple you to death. You really have to use the same strategy you used with Bass. Meaning throw them with a series of different combos and throws. Bass, Leon, and Bayman will most likely be the toughest of your opponents.
Brad Wong
This guy is crazy. There is no way to guess what he’s about to do next. For one I recommend that you just try to block him rather then counter, its better not to take damage then to make a mistake. Also hit him low, he’s always on the ground. Try a Leg Cut, then Ground Throw from there just repeat, and move on to the next challenge.
Christie
You know she has to be tough, I mean come on, not only does she have a panther, but she teases the darn thing by throwing things at it. Anywho, she’s also fast, and rather dangerous. Stay close to her, throw her around whenever you can. Tina is no push over at hand to hand combat, try some punch combos as well. Your main weapon is strength over speed.
Gen Fu
Gen Fu is slow but strong, he’s also easy to encounter. Just beware of his power, and you should do fine.
Hayabusa
This guy can really nail you. He’s fast enough to interrupt any of your combos, and is capable of dishing out series counters. Fight him head on, throw him before he can hit you. He also likes to combo you whenever you make a mistake, ready for him, with a nice counter.
Hayate
He’s just another version of Ayane, except for the fact he won’t hit and run, but he still can’t match the power of Tina’s combos. Most of his attacks seem to target the middle, land a counter of two, then tear him up.
Helena
Ah the equally beautiful Helena is just as deadly as Tina. Many of her most powerful attacks cannot be countered. An example is her fierce kick, but it can still be dodged leaving her open of an attack from behind. When she is in her low stance, she can be attacked with low throws.
Hitomi & Ein
Hitomi is no problem for Tina, her lack of speed and attacks are easy to counter. I would just go head on with her, tear her up with a punch kick combo, and a few ground throws.
Ein on the other hand seems to be a little more beefed up, and his hits are harder. Beware of his attacks which send you flying, I recommend you use your Giant Swing on him, the attack with ground throws.
Jan Lee
He’s a wreckless fighter. Beware of what you try to counter, his attacks go from middle to high often. Use your fighting ability to rough him up, he has few throws and grabs. Also stay close to him, he likes to pull flying kicks and such from far distance.
Kasumi
The last of the ninjas you will have to worry about. She’s all combination attacks, and has no intention to run from you. Probably the most challenging out of the ninjas, I say this battle can go from close range to long range in a split second. Fight her with your combos, when she hits ground, ground throws, and beware of her attacking as she raises, so be ready to counter.
BEWARE: Kasumi is used by many expert players, be prepared for her to teleport behind you, and launch a non-stop combo. You can save your self with quick thinking, and attacking as soon as the match starts preventing the ninja’s magic, sending her home in a body bag.
Lei Fang
She’s slow, weak, and a pushover, but an excellent tag partner. Simply tear her up with combos, and throw her before she hits the ground.
Zack
Zack has a huge arsenal of moves, making him great for countering practice. You can counter him to death, or just throw him around a bit.
And that’s all for now, you should have no problem using Tina to her fullest now! :)
Also feel free to print this out, test it and use it for any kind of personal use. Just don't post it on another website claiming it as yours, or you will get sued ^_^
And one last thing, this was just a quick beginners guide, going over every character fast and simple, if you need a more in depth strategy, or have any questions, feel free to ask ;)
That must have been a lot of work !! I play as Tina sometimes and just throw like crazy, that almost always does it for me :D
Cool Guide Liquid! I always Throw with Tina and Mix it around with the move were she throws her body(or bum) at the opponent. I am gonna try and do a guide for Helena if there is not one. :D
w00t! looks like yous like my guide trend :)
I thought I need to give the Tina haters something to be scared of. ;)
I think I may write a new guide for Lei Fang, or a strategy on the most difficult thing to do with Tina, getting her to like you in Volleyball :D
Good stuff Liquid. Awesome guide, mad props. :)
Ditto. Of course, in the hands of an expert....tina :wub: becomes way too fun to use and funny to watch... :D
