Title: Achewood
Description: my favorite webcomic, ever

John Updike - April 3, 2009 10:33 PM (GMT)
This thread is about the achewood comic. It started out like any other webcomic, but by now the author has gone on multiple book tours, been interviewed on NPR, and rocketed to internet fame beyond the likes of even Something Awful or /a/ for being both witty and approachable to just about everyone.

In particular, it does plenty humor of what it's like to be a 20-something male, a subject relevant to many of us either in reality or retrospect.

If you haven't read it before, I recommend starting here, in the arch about Ray's Toilet Party

Here's one of my favorite story arcs, it's about magic underwear and subtly deals with the idea of having a huge wang

One of my favorite secondary characters is Nice Pete, the sociopathic rustic country gentleman/murderer (sound like anyone we know?)
this is one of the best strips of him

Dude the cell phone one is the best I've seen yet!

I;ve been sitting here reading through those comics from the beginning since you first linked us in the other thread.

I'm somewhere in October 2002 right now, and of the ones I;ve found, THIS ONE is my favorite.

I'm becoming quite attached to the characters in this comic. Roast Beef is epic, and Meatwad from ATHF seems to be a ripoff of Phillipe. I don;t remember half their names yet, but the old drinking dog and his buddy are the shit.

May only the best internets find their way to your presence for this Sir

Awesomest thread about comics ever! These are my kind of comics, not that anime crazy stuff, never got into Marvel type shit, I enjoy cartoons in the realm of humor. I didn't read as many I wanted right now, but I really like the ones with Nice Pete. Here's one about his upbringing http://achewood.com/index.php?date=10272003

the character blog entries are pretty interesting as well, same kind of humor but no pictures. Nice Pete's blog is pretty awesome, there's an entry about him stalking rachel ray because she said perch was a bad fish to eat and it thoroughly offended his rural upbringing
