Title: starryeyed and [stormy]
Description: open!

Emmeline Vance - September 24, 2007 08:57 PM (GMT)
Six A.M alone in the library, surrounded by dusty books that would probably make her allergy symptoms go haywire. Bored?

Emmeline Vance was not going to lie.

For one thing, she was terrible at it. Emmy could not lie to save her life. To lie, one needed confidence and a lack of a conscience, which Emmy had neither of. One also needed to be able to act, so that she could sell her lie sucessfully. Emmy, never too quick on her feet, could not think fast enough to come up with a valid excuse, if ever put in the situation that she'd need to make something up. Emmeline also was terrible at executing a lie. She could never make eye contact with the person she was trying to lie to; she always looked down at her feet. She blushed scarlet, and her normally clear voice sounded very strained and choked. Emmeline Vance was a terrible liar.

For another thing, there was no reason to lie. She wasn't bored, she was reading. Turn up your nose and call her crazy, but she was not bored. She was reading one of her two favorite books. The first, which was the one that she was reading, was Romeo and Juliet. There was one thing that Emmeline detested in books: Normal, happy romances. Now that was boring. Love/hate, dramatic, and forbidden romances were loved by her, while normal, happy ones bored her to death. The two lovers, tormented by fate and their familes, until the heartbreaking ending that made her cry every single time she read it. The second book was Pride and Prejudice, simply because the overall buildup until the ending was just amazing. True, Pride and Prejudice ended happily, but there was tension in the romance. There was fun in it. Although, with all of the drama that was going on, the last thing she wanted to read about was more drama. Ugh. Immediately, she put that book down and took Julius Caesar. Much better.

Emmy wasn't picky about other books. Books were like the friends that she could trust, unlike everyone else in the world. She didn't trust anyone she hadn't known since first year, and that grouping was a very select few. Emmeline read anything she could get her hands on, because she tended to have a short attention span and needed to do something at every moment.

The fault, dear Brutus, is not in the stars
    But in ourselves.

"Ugh." She muttered. That was the last thing she needed to read. Everything was her fault. Forgetting about books for now, Emmeline sighed, staring at the bookshelf until she couldn't see it anymore, resting her chin on her hand. Emmy felt a brush of contact, a prickling on her skin that some other human life form was near. She jumped. Emmy had looked behind her, to realize someone was staring over her shoulder.

Sirius Black - September 25, 2007 09:28 PM (GMT)

Today had been uneventful.

That is, except for setting off stinkbombs in Filch's office -- but that wasn't much of a thrill.

Oddly enough, Sirius had found himself fawning over some girl, the likes of which he did not know. This was peculiar for a guy such as Sirius, for he knew all of the names of all of the attractive girls who were sluts put themselves out there. He had heard this girl's name before, he had seen her silky brown locks and breathtaking eyes, but it seemed that these things of which he now craved, had never registered in his rapidly growing mind. As she rounded a corner, he had no choice but to follow -- to leave his hopes hanging were but a sinful thing and he craved knowing whether or not she woul be his date to Hogsmeade. First, though, he must learn her name.

As he traipsed down the hall, careful not to appear as if he was stalking her, he laid low and acted as if he were confused at where he was. A small grouping of fangirls emerged from a corner, suffocating him with kisses and squeals of glee, he thought he saw the girl give him a double-take. Silently cursing, he pushed through the sea of raging hormones and searched the corridors for the girl. Immediately, his eye caught the back of her ass disspearing into the library. Hustling to follow, he stopped at the doorway and glanced in. She had seated herself and began to read. Realizing that she would not be leaving the library anytime soon, Sirius briskly pulled up a chair away from her field of vision and waited.

After long minutes Sirius began to become impatient, never had he been required to wait this long for the attention of a pretty girl, well except Lily Evans, but she was quite a different story. Hopping agily out of the wooden chair, Sirius silently walked over and stood behind the girl whose head was buried in a textbook. Reaching his hand out lightly, he lowered it over her shoulder and drew it back as she emitted a soft sneeze. He continued to stand there, his warm, slow breaths residing on the back of her neck. Deciding to peer over her shoulder to see if there was any name written on her paper, he craned his neck and glanced at the parchment.

Nothing.

Rather annoyed, Sirius began to back away, when he noticed her make a slight jerking movement and jump anxiously out of her chair. She turned around and saw him, a dancing light came into her eyes. And then she spoke. All that Sirius could manage was a "Er...Hey..." Damn, he didnt know her name, racking he brain to try and recall where he had heard it, nothing came. In a less-than-suave tone Sirius began, "Well, I was lost and came in here to find directions..."

This lie was comletely absurd.

It was early in the morning.

The top prankster in the school was never lost.
For Voldemort's sake, he had helped to create the Marauders' Map!

But the more Sirius yearned to stop his dishonest babbling, the more smoothly it began to come out. It was all coming into place. If he could convince her to walk him back to his dorm...

Emmeline Vance - September 25, 2007 11:39 PM (GMT)
There were so many things utterly wrong with this.

Why? It was Sirius Black! Aka, off-limits due to the fact that he had just dated her best friend. Also the biggest manwhore in the entire school who would probably break her heart and then move on to some stick thin, blonde, slut. That was the way the world worked, that was how it was going to be. She had to keep a cool head and not lose herself, despite the fact that she'd had a crush on him for...years? Perhaps four? It was utter humiliation. He didn't even know she existed. He had barely spoken two words to her in his entire life, so why should he pick now to acknowledge her presence? Of course, she highly doubted he even knew his name.

"You know, Sirius, as much as I can't belive you'd get lost in a library, it makes perfect sense." She smiled at him, half-teasing him (because she figured she was allowed to), half in shock that he was ACTUALLY talking to her. Emmy smiled, giggling. "I'm only kidding. But you've never really been in here before?" He probably had, she was just naive and stupid and believed people far too easily and saw the good in everyone, which ultimately was her downfall. The fact that she wasn't a whore was also her other downfall: Who wants a girl who doesn't roll up her skirt and doesn't charm their tights so only the teachers can see them and never wears high heels? Who wanted a girl who had morals? Nobody?

You'd be right in assuming so.

Well, at least Sirius Black wouldn't, in her mind. She wasn't going to bother getting wrapped up in him.

"I can show you back to the Common Room if you like, Sirius." She said, giving him a smile. Keep your cool, Em, and remember that he's a player who will dangle everything you want on a string in front of you. "Or, at least, how to get out of here." She actually believed he was lost. No, she wasn't stupid. She just didn't know about this art of lying and trickery. It was Greek to her.

Sirius Black - September 26, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
Feeling more secure, Sirius laughed at this tease. It meant she liked him. He wanted to talk to her more and learn about her, but how could he, her first name was absent from his mind. He continued to surf his memories, but all of the results came back blank. Damn. His eyes began to wander down her figure, she was skinny, though not a stick like some other girls he had dated. Her skin was a nice olive tone and her eyes danced with happiness, but were somewhat glum at the same time. "Well thanks," he said, smirking. Pushing his hair back, he gazed into her eyes and fought off the urge to kiss her right there and then. "I think that I can get out...the door is there. But I need help to get back to my common room. I have a limp." Sirius' old personality was back, he used the lame puppy trick to get those girls, and it worked every time. He could tell that this girl hadn't had a whole lot of sexual experience, but he was willing to look past that. Striding up to her so that there noses were touching, he looked into her eyes and backed slowly away. ”Okay, let’s get going. Maybe I can show you my room.” Haughtily he began to slowly walk towards the door, summoning for her to follow.

Emmeline Vance - September 27, 2007 02:15 AM (GMT)
Emmy grinned. Good, she had the ability to make him laugh. That was a start.

No. NO! What was she saying?! This is your best friend's ex, you can't just do something like this? Although, Macy hadn't asked if Emmy was okay with her dating Sirius, but then again, Emmy had never revealed absolutely any signs of liking him, so this whole thing was completely out of the question. What kind of friend would she be if she suddenly started being flirty her almost-sister's ex? A bad one. A very, very bad one and Emmy would never be able to forgive herself if she ever let it happen.

But...but he had a limp. He needed help. Of course, he didn't, but Emmy was far too sweet to ever think of someone as lying to try and get to her, or perhaps she was just too stupid. Emmeline grinned. "No problem, Sirius. How do you need me to help you?" She got such a joy out of making other people happy. Emmy didn't give a crap about what happened to her, so long as it put a smile on someone else's face. Her whole life, she'd made sacrifices for those around her. It wasn't anything new. Emmy gathered up her books and placed them into her bag, slung it over her shoulder and grinned. "Shall we?"

Sirius Black - September 28, 2007 02:56 PM (GMT)

"We shall."

She had bought it.

The limp pup trick - worked every time.

As the two left the room, Sirius continued to limp, whimpering every few minutes to add some genuinity to his little act. There were few in the corridor, but those who were hurridly making through would stop and gander at the appallingly beautiful girl walking with a limping Sirius. Whether they were jealous or in awe at the perfect couple. Sirius smirked at the passersby, winking at a few of cute girls on the way. He mouthed [i]'Meet me in the common room.'[i] to a few, and some would nod and be on their way, looking back every few steps at the devilishly handsome boy making his way slowly down the corridor - his "injured" leg slacking behind him. Turning to the girl, whose name he still didn't recall. "Come with me to Hogsmeade tomorrow? You know, just because of my leg." Smiling naughtily he said softly, "And maybe we can have a drink at the Hog's Head.

Emmeline Vance - September 29, 2007 02:11 PM (GMT)
She felt so bad for him. Emmy gently placed a shaking hand on his shoulder and rubbing it, slightly tentative. Did she have the right to touch him? "Is there any way I can help you?" She asked softly, still in awe of what was happening to her. Sirius Black was actually acknowledging her presence. Sure, he probably didn't know her name, but that was alright. The second she got the chance to open her mouth and say her name, she would, but now wasn't the best time.

SDFDSFSDFSFSD. Excuse me?! Sirius Black was asking her OUT? WHAT?! The world must be ending tomorrow or something, or then she'd probably wake up any second now, having fallen asleep on that copy of Romeo and Juliet. Oh wait...It was just to help him with his leg. Maybe the impossible was actually...impossible. "No problems, Sirius. I'll help any way I can." It was her way of saying 'yes', but if she had really said 'yes' then it would be like he was asking her on a date, which he was not.

Wait a minute. Macy. She'd forgotten about Macy. Oh God, Macy would be completely desolate if she ever found out that Emmy went out with Sirius...But wait. Macy didn't have to know, and it wasn't even a date. She was just helping him. Macy knew that Emmy liked to help people. It was the way Emmy functioned.

Sirius Black - September 30, 2007 08:22 PM (GMT)

"I'm fine. He smiled genuinely.

Score.
Sirius had step the trap and it had snapped shut. It was quite obvious, though, that this female was too naïve to believe that Sirius had meant it it as a /date/. It mattered not, because now he had a date with an extremely hot girl. Something told Sirius that this girl was a virgin, but he knew that she would surrender that title for him - the way she looked at him. The light in her eyes and the way her face lit up whenever he spoke to her.

Still, she was a friend of Macy's - that is where he had seen her before. They hung around together and shared everything with each other. She would surely speak to Macy about this incedent - and knowing Macy, she would scoff at the thought of Sirius having a limp. And al awlays, she would be right, but he would deny it.

"Awesome." His voice had a slight hint of loathing not meant to be there. Seeing the face of the girl, knowing that she had picked up on this tone, he looked at her affectionately. "Sorry, I was thinking about...someone else."

Emmeline Vance - October 3, 2007 02:47 AM (GMT)
"Okay, but don't hesitate to ask, Sirius." She grinned, blushing a bit. "Sorry, I'm a bit more of the maternal figured. My friends call me Mom. But I'm not their mom. I'm just Emmy." Sure, it had taken a bit of rambling on her part, but she'd acknowledged her name. Ergo, Sirius now knew her name and could quite possibly call her it now. Even though, she lit up like a Christmas tree every time he spoke to her. Maybe like a mirror, since her eyes seemed to reflect sunlight.

See, Emmy was smart. And she wasn't going to tell Macy about this. She was going to pretend that this whole entire thing never happened. It was something Emmy would take to the grave. As he spoke of thinking of someone else, her face fell slightly. "Oh...Right." She looked a bit disappointed, but that was okay. He wasn't guaranteed to think of her constantly.

"So....um...you doing okay?" She didn't mean to seem clingy, she just wanted to make sure that she was okay. And things were getting awkward.
