Here is Version 2.0 of Super Mario Pong.

EDIT: Added Mirrors, wrote a small description, and posted the game on the Real GMC in Works in Progress.

EDIT 2: Game is now Version 1.1. It's mostly a bug-fix release, and I also added difficulty adjustment in the options. Hopefully fixed the bug with the ball getting stuck, and the configuration file is now encrypted. Removed the balls from the main menu, as I think it makes the menu too chaotic. If you try to use your Joystick with v1.0, you will get an error! Fixed. Enjoy.

This is Super Mario PONG, a Mario style PONG re-make with powerups, fairly good AI, 4 levels, configurable controls, joystick support, and a level builder. During the gameplay, the ball will hit item boxes, and the last player to hit the ball will have a chance to catch 1 of 5 items:

Super Mushroom: makes a player gigantic, making it easier to hit the ball.

Fire Flower: Gives a player fire ammo to shoot at the opposing player. Stuns the opposing player for 2 seconds, if the shot makes contact. Each Fire Flower gives 5 shots.

Star: Makes a player invincible for 10 seconds. The player's paddle will automatically follow the ball, and boost the ball's speed significantly on contact.

Poison Mushroom: Makes a player small, making it much more difficult to hit the ball.

Slow-Motion Clock: Sends the game into slow-motion for 5 game seconds, or 10 actual seconds.

Sometimes, another ball will appear! (New to v2.0).

I plan on adding more items eventually. I will probably add more features to the level editor too.

EDIT 3: Version 2 is in progress, and many things previously available, including the now bug free level editor, will be locked. By playing the game, you can unlock the level editor, and some other things.

Each arena will most likely be unlockable too. Play a game on one arena, unlock the next, etc. I think it will certainly add more depth to the game, having hidden stuff to unlock. It will all be saved in a file between runs of the game, so you won't have to unlock anything more than once. (unless you manually delete the external file).
