Title: Elections (and active members)
Description: New Admin

ari_aaron - July 3, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
moderator has gone on vacation, and I want another admin to help me with this forum.

rig is the winner!

This time, instead of choosing the next admin myself, I am going to let the members vote for a new admin.

Before we go to the voting, we are going to wait for the candidates to tell us why we should vote for them. The poll has been disabled until then.

I think both of them could do a very good job, and I guess we'll just have to see who wins!

Rules
  • Candidates may vote for themselves
  • Root Admin (that's me) will only vote in case of a tie
  • No giving things for votes
  • No spamming the forum telling people to vote
  • You MAY tell people to join the forum to vote for you
  • No duplicate accounts voting for you (they are not allowed anyway)
  • No posting in this topic
That's all I can think of now, all suggestions can go in the topic in Community.

NOTE:Ok, we're ready to start.

King Elemento has been disqualified, seeing as he hasn't responded to emails, and has not been online this week.

Please read the next two posts before voting.

This topic is closed, and comments go in This Topic.

NOTE: I changed the title so I wouldn't be off-topic :D

I think you should vote for me because I would be a great admin here, I already am at many other forums and the members enjoy having me be an admin there! :) I would greatly contribute to the forum as an admin.

My forum isn't very active, so I practically have nothing to do there. This forum is the best GMC forum I've seen. Everybody gets the chance to help keep spammers out, unfortunately, some of the people coming in end up being spammers. I want to help keep out spammers, hackers, etc. I will be a great admin. I've been working on a little Flash animation for this forum. It's a robot warning spammers not to spam. The same robot says something else on my site, www.bigjsdomain.com.

Ok.

Sorry King Elemento, but you haven't come on since Sunday. We'll have to start without you.

I'll end this tomorow.

Most of our members are active either every day, or not at all, so I don't think we'll get anymore.

If there is anyone else, please note that rig is winning 3-2, so your vote will make a differeance.

I guess tommorow we'll be getting a new admin.

OK, besides showing me that our members want rig as our new admin, I have also found out that we only have 7 active members. This is really pathetic, seeing as we have 59 members. On further research, I found that 11 of these members are duplicate accounts (and are banned). Including the duplicates, we have 15 banned members, and 10 members who have been suspeneded (which means that they are evil, and probably won't come back).

So, all together, we have 25 evil members, out of our 59. This means that we should have 34 active members. But, we dont. We only have 7.

I looked at where the other 27 were, and I found that 13 of them have never posted. I also didn't vote. There are 13 more members. Looking in the member list got me 10 more:
  • Yosef Travis - he was just a spammer, but didn't get suspended (because I am the only one that suspendes. moderator dealt with him, and just gave him a warn.
  • test_member - My test account. I didn't vote.
  • ryan - He just joined because I joined his board :) . He isn't active anymore.
  • Ravmaster - He came, advertised his forum, and left.
  • Noggin - I really don't remember him. It says that he has 2 posts, but I can't find them.
  • GMGToplist Admin - Look in the "Forums opened" topic.
  • dlf - Another one that just came to advertise.
  • Blomp - I don't know what happened to him. I was planning on giving him Super Mod, but he wasn't active again.
  • blah - I have my suspitions of duplicates. The ISP is "Toronto Public Library".
  • King Elemento - Look the the above posts.

I really don't know who the last 3 are, but this is really pathetic.

Anyway, rig is our new admin.

All comments can go in the topic mentioned above.
