Akito sat on the window seat, her black kimono draped over her arms. Her head rested against the closed window, gently so as not to break it. Her empty eyes stared at the doorway, watching- watching for the next sign of movement; the sign of movement that would tell her that her guests had arrived and were ready to receive orders. The “god” had been waiting forever for this moment. She was finally going to be able to kill Tohru Honda with the help of her new assassins. It would be oh-so-easy. Her two new assassins should be able to finish it in less than a year, but, just in case, she would give them until when Tohru graduated from her high school. They had plenty of time to get it done.
It started about a year ago- this will to kill Tohru. At first, it was nothing. It was just a mere thought in her head that told her killing Tohru would be a good idea. Akito didn’t give it too much thought then, and the thought kind of just drifted away. But it came back again last month, and this time it was much stronger. She was feeling hatred towards the young girl, once again, for taking her zodiac away from her. It wasn’t Tohru’s place to “help” the zodiac and make them start to feel like they could leave and do whatever they wanted. That was when the thought hit her again.
This time, Akito actually thought over it. What if she killed Tohru? It could be quick, and she did have more than enough money to hire assassins. Not only that, but killing Tohru might make all of her zodiac depressed, and maybe they would start to feel like they shouldn’t get in anymore love relationships like that again. Then they would start crawling back to their “god”. Akito wouldn’t have to worry about her zodiac ever leaving her again.
So now here she was, continuing to stare at the door, barely blinking. In only a matter of seconds, in walked two teenagers, a girl and a boy. The boy was tall and average-sized for those that were his age, or eighteen, and he was quite handsome. He had a serious face with cold, blood-thirsty, silver eyes. His hair was strangely the color of his eyes, and it made Akito wonder just what the story was behind his hair being an abnormal color. But then again, she didn’t have time for stories anymore. The teenage girl next to him was also quite attractive, with long black hair and pale skin. She had the same serious expression on her face, but her eyes weren’t blood-thirsty looking like his were. The two both wore black clothes, the assassin’s color.
“Glad you could come, Izanami, Keiji.” Akito finally spoke, her voice spoken in a smooth and almost melodious tone. She didn't care if she sounded like a guy or not, because sooner or later, the two would be gone, and they would never come back. She wouldn't have to worry about them telling off her secret to the other zodiac members, because they wouldn't need to interact with them anyway. “It’s Nami, Akito-san. Call me Nami,” Izanami spoke up, her eyes slightly colder. “Whether I call you the right name or not shouldn’t really matter. I’m paying you money to assassinate someone, not to tell me all about yourself and what you would rather be called,” Akito said coldly. “I want this girl assassinated,” She threw a picture of Tohru on the ground at the assassins’ feet. “Her name is Tohru Honda, and she lives in a house with three older men, two of them being trained in martial arts. Here’s her address,” she gave them a folded piece of paper with the address on it, making sure that the sleeve of her kimono was the only thing that was touching the paper, just in case it were to get dropped and someone were to pick it up and use a special kit to find her finger prints on it. “I want you to find her and bring her to me, alive, so I can.... have a word with her, and then I want you to finish her off. I would rather not murder a person myself, the reason I am getting you to do it. Make sure that not a soul knows who you are, or that you are working for me, or I will have your heads. No one is to know that Tohru is to be here, and that I am behind her assassination. Is that clear?”
The two nodded, took the address, and picked up the picture. With that, they walked out of the room, and Akito was left staring at the doorway again.
Maybe if Shigure hadn't broken her heart in the first place, she wouldn't be here. Maybe she and the zodiac would still be together, and Tohru wouldn't have had to be killed. Maybe she and the rest of the zodiac would still be on good terms, and Yuki would have continued to live with her. It was all because of Shigure and her poor, broken heart...
