Constantine:
"Carrie Keith--both of us Nimbus survivors, both of us psychometrics. We met sometime after the fire, after the relocation to Aura Academy. She's not that bad, actually, and we understand each other, at least as far as the power goes. So we're friends. If I had any need of advice on psychometrics, I might go to Carrie--an older student, a bit more in control of her power than myself."

Carrie:
"Well, I didn't know Constantine until after the fire, but now I do know him I'm glad I do. He's a good kid- if a little anti-social- and it's good to know I'm not the only one who's struggled with my abilities. I guess it's the only thing connecting us besides being survivors, but I'm glad... I fell like he's going to need help someday. I know I did..."

"If Carrie were to touch me, which, thankfully, she hasn't, she might experience my discovery of my sister's body in the debris after Nimbus, or the night my father beat me within half an inch of my life when I got accepted to Nimbus."

“I’ve seen Carrie around campus back at Nimbus. We haven’t really exchanged words, much less hung out with each other. The only time I’ve actually spoken to her was when we were standing next to each other in the lunch line and I asked her to hand me a soda. That was pretty much the only time I spoke to her before the fire. We sat next to each other on the ride to Aura Academy. Again, I didn’t really speak to her since I had other things on my mind. My sister’s death and my parents suddenly up and moving without telling me and my brother. I guess I was really stressed and then we accidentally bumped elbows when there was some turbulence. It wasn’t long, less then a second, I jerked my arm away the moment it touched her, force of habit. That’s when we finally started talking and I realized she tries to hard to fit in. People would accept her for the way she is.”

Carrie:
"Drake... was unfortunate enough to be placed next to me on the flight to Aura. I wasn't feeling all that talkative- nobody was- and I wasn't concentrating... and we touched. I saw things I didn't want to see and had no right to see, but that's just how it is with me. When I'm emotional I'm weak, and that means I can't discipline my mind enough to keep it all out. I still feel bad I didn't mention that I'd seen it all... but I didn't want to get into it. I mean, he'd just lost his sister after all that... so we just talked about me. He knows more about me than I'd care to admit, but if there's anything I wish I'd said it's that his secrets are safe with me. But of course, he's probably figured out exactly what happened by now, considering that Constantine's lucky enough to have the same ability. I'm not about to go telling people about his tragic past. I mean, if anything, a lot of it is similar to my own..."

How life was at home, my series of one night stands and parties, me taking care of my siblings , when I found my sister dead, what I’ve been thinking recently. What can I say?
