Remember to open
your heart to the world, love.
We’re always so caught up in the idea that when we find the light of our
life, nothing could be better. We fall into this shatter-free wrap of comfort,
feeling invincible and untouchable from the world. And we find this warm
space to control our lives to become something that we’ve always dreamed of,
to which we think can never be harmed or taken from us, so we take the ideas
for granted, seeking them to be forever and a day or even the stretched
tune of “everlasting.”
We use it as our shelter from the cold, but we never accounted for the
weather changing.
We soon realize that the hand we’ve become so accustomed to holding slowly
lets go, whether we want it or not, and we’re left alone, completely unaware of
where we’re going. We don’t know who’s going to hold us. Who’s going to
pick our falls up with a helping hand, and we wonder how the world worked
before the moment we found our forever. It’s that place in time we wish we
would have been more self-sufficient, honest, realistic, and we can only
hope that this is a dream we’ll wake up from, roll out of bed and realize that
the nest we were hoping to stay safe in forever is really the world we live in.
It’s about remembering where you came from, who you were before you found
that idea you thought became you. It’s about never losing sight of who you are
and being able to let go and move on.
ps, i love you.
