Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
The full moon hung like a large light bulb in the pitch black night sky. The winter air danced around in this shadow filled room. It seemed as if the cool night breeze danced in time with the ticking sound that echoed endlessly. But the coolness of his current environment did not calm his troubled soul. It added fuel to the fire that was his nerves. Beads of sweat lined his forehead and every inch of his exposed skin. His hands shook uncontrollably, not willing to respond to the commands that his brain sent. The safe feeling that he had got used to all of his life had departed his body a long time ago. He inhaled the cool winter air around him and wiped the sweat away from his forehead, as if to wipe away the panic and the worry. The red flickering numbers in front of him tormented him in a way that one could only understand if they were in his position. “I can do this,” He tried to reassure himself, as he stared down at the ever changing screen in front of him. “I can do this,” The tone of his voice was laced with self doubt and panic. He was not in the greatest position to reassure himself, but it was the only thing he could do at this very moment. Nervously, he reached into the black case he had brought with him. The glittering silver tools hidden in the black case would help in this situation. It would help him. Would it not? Self doubt is man’s greatest downfall, but this male had forgotten that one lesson that his father had taught him so long ago. Everything in his life felt like it happened so long ago. But he could not let himself get distracted by memories of the past. “I can do this,” He told himself again, the self doubt in his voice had faded, but panic was a clear emotion in his mind.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
The shadows in the room grew considerably larger around him. To him, the room was going darker, becoming blacker, if that were actually possible. But anything was possible at this moment. He could feel the moonlight on his back, he felt as if the gods in the night sky were watching his moves intently. He inhaled the cool winter air around him once again, and exhaled all the negative energy that had become a distraction in his mind. He fumbled with the silver tools in his black case, all different shapes, all with the exact same purpose. To save the world. But saving the world was a task easier said than done. “I should have become a fast food cook,” He whispered to himself as he fumbled with the different silver instruments. Scissors and interestingly shaped needles, were these the objects that would save the people around him? Save his family? He sighed and ignored his shaking hands as he examined the wires coming off of the digital clock device. The flickering numbers were going down at an alarming pace, while his anxiety levels were rising to all new highs. If this were a movie, this would be far easier, he thought. All he’d have to do is the cut the red wire, and he’d be a hero. But there was no red wire. There was no blue wire. There was only darkness around him. And the moon that hung high in the sky was doing very little to help him in this messy situation. Nervously and anxiously he raised his hand up above the digital clock device. The bomb he was trying to stop. He closed his eyes, and prayed to the gods that were observing his moods to let him be right, to let his hand find the right chord to cut. “Here goes nothing,” He whispered to himself, as he brought the scissors down to one of the black scissors. In a nervous manner, he cut the chord.
BOOM
Nervously, he opened his eyes. Bright lights had flooded into the room, but this was not his main concern. He brought his eyes back down to the digital clock. A small white flag like shape had popped up in front of him. The word ‘Boom’ was written on the white material, and he felt his heart sink. If this were real life, the whole world would be dead.
“Aw, come on! Let me try again! I need to get the practise in before the exams come around!”

Though Occultus Agnita is a prestigious school whose education system cannot be matched by any other school in the world, the principal of the school rarely chooses the best of the best to attend. In fact, what makes Occultus Agnita so unique in the eyes of others, is that not all the students who attend are wealthy, nor are the adolescents of Occultus Agnita A+ students. What is even more puzzling about the way Occultus Agnita accepts students, is that the majority of adolescents who attend are not from New York, but often come from different countries in the world! The boarding school’s exclusiveness makes it the form of scrutiny in the public eye. Little is known about the prestigious Occultus Agnita Preparatory, but one thing is for certain, if you’re invited to attend the school, you’d be crazy to refuse.
