The computer was going slow once again. It seemed to be acting up quite a bit lately. And always at the most inconventient times. Gavin was in the middle of writing an e-mail to his sister when the internet went down. Sighing, he laid a hand on the monitor. Stupid connection. How did people fix these things without a special ability? Those manuals were thick and Gavin couldn't actually see someone reading one just to fix a simple problem. Then again he was mort fotunate than most. Tecnopathy was a gift.
In his mind he told the computer to fix the connection. With a little beeping noise it start right back up. Gavin finished his letter and though of his family. They were so far away. But school wasn't so bad. He had a kickass roommate and great friends. Plus the library was at his disposal. That helped quite a bit in his decision to come to this school.
Grinning his lopsided grin, he stepped back from his desk. It was tidy and organized but he needed someplace more comfortable. His bed sat in the nearby corner so he grabbed a random book and plopped down. The floor was quiet nd with nothing else to do reading seemed the obvious choice. Things were a little slow today.
Things were a little slow indeed this day. Then again that had been what was happening all week to our dear Benji. Not that he complained out loud about that. Classes had gone extremely slow and professors seemed to enjoy making everything completely and utterly boring. That was how it was with all his classes. Sometimes he wished he could skip, but that would be a little hard because he lived at the school. XD. The authorities could easily find out that he was skipping, unless he pretended he was sick....but he was a horrible actor so that would not do. It didn't help that it took him at least twenty minutes to wake up in the morning. You see, Benjamin wasn't a morning person. He liked to stay up late and sleep in, but the only times he got to sleep in was on the weekends, or holidays. That was a real drag, but it wasn't like he was able to so anything about it now was it? Ah well he would just have to function on little sleep is all. It didn't really effect him that much either, he was still doing good in his classes and that was all that mattered. x]. However boring they may be.
Benjamin had wandered around a bit before hand, until he had settled on hanging around the Garden for about half an hour or so. The day was beautiful, though a little on the chilly side. While he was lounging about in the Garden, he decided that he would keep himself occupied with the snow around him. Making snowmen without doing very much was quite fun. It didn't take him very long either to morph the bright snow into what he wanted it to be. He was pretty good at being an artist some times. X3. Though that probably came to him because of his love for baking and decorating pastries. Yes, Ben was a baker at heart. He loved to cook too, but baking was something that could top everything. Sure, baking was traditionally a 'woman thing' but Ben didn't really take stereotypes into account with the things that he wanted to do. He never understood why some people thought that girls couldn't do the same things that guys could do. As Ben built his snow sculptures, he got lost in...well a daze, because he really wasn't thinking about anything.
When Benji was satisfied, he had made his own little fort and a couple of snowmen guards at its entrance. Grinning at his childishness, Benji had quickly destroyed the little scene. A couple of kids that had taken a seat on the bench, let out a disappointed 'aw' when Benji had gotten rid of it. Oh well, Ben didn't think that the authority would appreciate having a fort and a couple of snowgurads littering their beautiful garden. Ben didn't have a problem with that though. With a sigh he began to leave the garden, it was getting pretty boring all over again. So! Benji whipped out his cell phone and sent a text to his best friend and dorm mate. =]. He didn't think that the other would mind much if he bothered him a little. Then again, Gavin could be busy doing stuff, if that was the case Benji would probably feel bad for bothering him. X3. It wasn't long until he received his friend's reply.
What was Benjamin going to do now? Hmm, probably head back to the dorm, which was where Gavin was apparently hanging out. Benji replied to Gavin's last text and once again slipped his phone into his rich brown leather jacket. Shoving his hands inside the pockets of his jacket he made his way steadily through the snow covered path. Yep. It would probably turn out to be a much better day for Ben if he found someone to hang out with, which was what he was doing now. It didn't take him very long to reach the dorm building. He was a pretty fast walker when he was by himself. Benji only walked slowly when he was with a group of friends or admiring some sort of scenery. The chocolate brown haired boy pushed his way through the entrance and traveled up to the first level. The Apollo Level, was what it was called. This was the level that Ben had been on since day one of his stay at Aura Academy, and Gavin had been his roommate for his entire stay here as well.
Gavin was a quiet guy, not that Benji minded that much. They had gotten to know each other pretty quickly though. Gavin was a very nice guy and Ben was always relaxed around him, just like he was with Zephyriah. Stopping at room 108, Benjamin unzipped his jacket a tad and pulled out his keys (which he kept in his inside breast pocket. Long story. X3). Unlocking the door, Benji walked in.
"Hey Gavin! I'm hhhoooooommme!" He laughed lightly and took off his jacket. Striding in with a small grin playing across his features, Benjamin spotted Gavin sitting on his bed reading. Something that Benji knew his friend did all the time. Throwing his jacket on his bed and then sitting down Ben said, "Long time no talk Gav," x3
{Ooc: sorry...the end is pretty chump ^^;}
Gavin heard a distant noise. His favorite song was playing. Though it was crystal clear the sound seemed a long way away. With difficulty Gavin came out of his book. Things were just getting interesting too. The noise was coming from his cell phone. The thing had been going like mad. We the Kings played loudly informing Gavin he had just recieved a text message.
Ahh, Benji. He had been Gavin's roommate since their first year here. The two were best friends. It helped that Gavin had a great sense of ease around him. Otherwise Benji would most likely have been freaked by Gavin's shy and geeky nature. But there were some skeletons in his friends closet also. The guy bakes. No way to say it except to be blunt. At first Gav had laughed at it. Inwardly of course. Nothing out in the open. But after a while the quirks became normal. They know each others secrets and skeletons, there is nothing to hide. Well there isn't much to hide. Gavin could do without Ben finding out about his little one nighter with Jordan. Now that would be embarrassing.
Quickly Gavin's hands flew over the keyboard on his phone. Although he needn't have done anything more than lay a finger on the thing once in a while it was nice to do things like a normal person would. Pssh. Yeah, right. The truth was that his gift tired him out fast. Most kids at the school used thir powers like there was no tomorrow. And if hey keep doing it there might not be one. Gavin was a tecnopath. Controlling tecnology had been scary at first, but Aura had gotten him used to it. His new friends helped too. But just telling a computer what to do could make this gift feel like anything but a godsend. That is the price of being special it seems.
A vibration in his hand brought Gavin out of these thoughts. The song was playing again too. Not willing to tire out Gavin replied. So his roomie was coming home. No problems there. Things were getting dull. Picking up his book again, Gavin sat on the bed. Immersed in the book once again, he hardly heard Ben's noisy arrival. But, of course, Benji can not be denied. "Honey, you're home!" With a grin on his face Gavin placed aside Angels and Demons. It was predictable anyways. "Already throught with playing in the snow? Do childish moments really pass that quickly?" Gavin was only teasing. He knew if his sister was here they'd be having a snowball ight right now. But that wasn't going to happen. For now Gavin would have to deal with the misfit students of Aura Academy.
{Ooc: my entire first post was a dud. You're off the hook ^_^}
