Since arriving in America, Charli had left behind the beginnings of the Australian summer. In some regards, this was a good thing. It meant being excluded from one day of searing sunlight and being attacked by irritating flies and the next of an unpredictable wind storm. Yup, that was Melbourne weather for you. America presented a dramatic climate change for the young Aussie girl. Here she was introduced to ice cold wind, rain and...snow! Charli had been to the snow twice in her lifetime in Australia. Once when she was two and the ohter when she was five. So needless to say, Charli had minimal memory of these experiences. Now, in America, snow was almost an everyday thing taken for granted and resented by many, and Charli wasn't going to miss out on it...even it it meant freezing!

So today, being a Saturday, Charli had the whole day to spend with herself and she was going to enjoy the snowfall as it came. Like usual, Charli awoke at 7a.m out of habit and she sat up in her single dorm reading for a while. Then at 9a.m she decided to head outside. Finding her most appropriate winter garments, Charli put on leggings underneath her jeans, a singlet top, a tee-shirt, a jumper and a thick jacket. Charli was not immune to cold in anyway. Next, Charli put on two pairs of socks and her oldest pair of black Converse Chuck Taylor shoes and pulled a beanie over her unbrushed hair. She then grabbed her dog's lead and called the small Border Collie dog inside and attatched his lead to his collar before headed out the door with the dog bounding happily beside her.

Charli headed, not to her favourite location of the library, but to the gardens outside. Her dog, Sebastien, walked eagerly infront of her, Charli's footsteps imprinting upon his small paw marks in the snow. Breathing in the cold air, Charli shivered slightly but marvelled in the amazing scenery that the snow presented. Seeing a seat ahead, Charli decided to sit down for a bit. She wiped the seat dry with the edge of her jacket and sat down, Sebastien digging in the snow underneath the seat, shaking his nose every so often to remove the snow build up.

OOC: Sorry I took so long. What with being sick, and then Christmas, I haven't been able to roleplay much until now.

IC:

Ah, Saturday mornings. Marisol loved to sleep in as much as possible, but usually woke up no later than eleven- and even then that was rare. She usually got up around ten. Woke up around nine, but usually didn't bother to get up for up to an hour. Today, however, she woke up a little before eight and could not sleep at all. Tossing and turning, she finally forced herself out of bed. After a quick wash-up, she changed into a gray V-neck top over a black tank top and blue jeans, and put on a pair of black boots. Marisol then decided, that while she liked the food in the dining hall, one got bored with eating it every day, and liked to eat out once in a while. Since it was a long walk to her car, Marisol threw on a red v-neck sweater, followed by a coat, scarf, and gloves.

Purse in hand, Marisol headed out of the dorm building and to the parking garage. It was a long walk, but she'd managed to shorten it with a shortcut through the gardens. She loved walking through the gardens during springtime, but in winter? Not so much. While D.C. could get cold, it rarely got as cold as it did up here, and she just hated being cold. She preferred springtime, as the weather was just right. Summer was fine, too, but it often got a little too hot. Autumn was tolerable- she liked it better now than she used to because she didn't have to rake leaves the way she had to at home.

Shivering, Marisol approached the gardens, seeing one person in the distance actually sitting down in a bench. Marisol couldn't fathom just sitting outside in this kind of weather, but to each his own. As she got closer, she recognized the person as Charli.

"Hey, Charli." she greeted her friend. "What are you doing out here?"
