Allow me a story...

It was another cold winter's day in Aura Academy. Students were chilly and so was the sense of humor around here these days. It had gotten stale here...at least for now. It wasn't weird since mammals usually lower their daily activities in the winter to conserve warmth ultimately: Energy. Hah, what a bad way to talk about humans. He chuckled at the comparison of humans to other mammals. Humans were their own race, their own king in this world. That's how he looked at it. And this was the same reason he had chosen to 'confine' himself to the bandroom now. He felt like practicing and whatever impulse hit him, he acted upon.

"Daisetsu na...yasashi na...Kimi dake na...omai." he whispered to himself, his rhytme the same as that of the pleasurable tunes that drifted off of the piano he was playing. His head leaned back at every heartwrenching note he had worked on to practice. It brought him back home...Back to his mother, or at least the thought of her.

His mother was in the livingroom, practicing on her piano for the next concert she was going to partake in. Like mom always said: "If you wanna be good, then be good. Practice." It was an obvious advice but it went to his heart...but at the age of 5, everything his parents said he took to heart. Even the advices his father gave him about business and girls. Dad had his ways of saying things but he was a modern-day man, treating women as equal in the hierarchy of the family, which wasn't such a true fact 10 years before mom and dad were born.

Women were a submissive race, sent to please man...or that's the roughest way he could sum it up. "Respect, love, cherish and protect your loved ones. I'm not talking about family. Your mother and I will love you unconditionally but friends you have to earn and work for.". He exhaled loudly whilst continueing to play, a different song now but he stopped abruptly.

His ears wiggled ever so slightly underneath gelled hair, the sound of the doorhandle being pushed down reaching him. The scent had already moved into the room and it was enough to set him at ease. It was friendly and familiar which made him happy. "I thought it was you." he exclaimed, not looking at the door that opened. This friend would come into his sight soon enough.

((I feel weird about this post...Like I could've done better but I'll shake it off for now. I'll just admit to partial Writer's Block.))
