The Committee, a coven of vampires, disguised as the upper class, New York City Blood Bank Foundation are the heads of the underground vampire society. They are the head of the Blue Bloods, the most extravagant among us; celebrities, senators, the ridiculously rich.... the vampires.

But, when bad things start to happen their reign just may be in danger. The young vampires are at risk, being killed by something unknown. So they call a meeting of all the fledgling vampires and tell them the secret that has been lurking in the back of their minds.

Some already suspect, having felt the craving for the blood that they can only find in raw meat, having seen the blue lines forming in their arms. They even turn down the lights and the blood glows blue through their skin ever so slightly. At first some refuse to believe what they are, thinking that they seriously must be crazy, I mean come on... where's the cameras, you can stop now...

But slowly they discover that half way to the back of their mouth they have pointed incisors that they can extend on command. And that's not all, some can force their way into the mind of the weak and make them obey. Locks can even disintegrate with a wave of their hands, given enough practice. The memories of their immortal vampire souls are still present in their minds, so they begin to have flashbacks of other times and places, places centuries older than themselves.

The world is at their fingertips, even if this world they now knows is some what disturbing. But, it's not all power and fun. Something is after them... and it isn't the first time. This has happened before.

Back in the times of Plymouth, when their ancestors landed via the Mayflower, they were fleeing a force in Europe. When they arrived they hoped desperately for a new start, but what they feared most was also present in America. The Croatan, or silver bloods had followed and hunted them. They whipped out entire villages. They fed on other vampires, stealing their life force, draining them and gaining their memories, their being, which was trapped for eternity within the silver blood in their veins.

Now it seems they are back, and the Committee refuses to see the truth. Charles Force, their leader continues to tell them the committee they don't exist. But when people start getting attacked some learn that they must believe... if they wish to survive. The silver bloods could be anywhere, anyone. Perhaps they could even be a Blue Blood, hiding in the ranks of the committee. Whoever it is they are making more, fathering a army of killers.

The source of the Croatan must be found and stopped before it is too late. For the consequences could be extinction...
