Kallan Black - December 2, 2007 09:30 PM (GMT)
Kallan Black sat in her last class, tapping her pencil idly on her desk; she was counting down the minutes until the class ended. Why? She didn’t know, but today she couldn’t stand to be in class. Her mind was out on the soccer field with its lush, perfectly manicured grass, and the freshly painted white lines. Her mind, like usual, was else where. Today was particularly worse. Usually she didn’t mind sitting through he classes. It provided her mind with answers to so many unasked questions, but today she was having none of it. Even in her abilities classes she was off, which ended up with several spoons snapped in half, and a knife thrown dangerously close to her instructors head.

Usually Kallan was in perfect control of her powers, she always had been. Ever since she had discovered she had an affinity for controlling metal, the actual controlling bit came easier for her than it had for the rest of her family. Her mother told her it was because of her personality. When being instructed in her abilities classes all she had to do was watch what the instructor was doing, comprehend it, and then perform it. It was how she learned. Today, however, everything was off. So when the bell rang Kallan practically ran out the door.

On days like these, Kallan found it was best to just run; to run as fast, and as hard as she could, to clear everything out of her system and just run. Running was like a drug for Kallan. Some people, like her brother, liked to smoke, others liked to drink, but Kallan preferred to run. Running created its own euphoric high, and helped her loose pounds. When she was younger she used to hate to everything about running. It would make her chest burn, she’d become so out of breath, and it had made her feel stupid. However, she forced running into her daily routine, and soon enough it became a treat rather than a chore.

Kallan would have usually would have opted for the soccer field but the varsity boys had practice after school. So instead, Kallan walked out onto a seemingly empty track, but then again, she wasn’t really looking for anyone. Maddie had tried to push Kay to join track, but the girl had declined. To make running into a competition, would draw all of the fun fro it. It would make her hate it. So instead, on days like these she would run for her own piece of mind.

In only a sports bra and shorts Kallan took off, leaving her mind behind her…

Gabriel Eads - December 5, 2007 02:11 AM (GMT)
Gabriel Eads had always liked to be in control. Not like a control freak sort of control, but a control where he knew what was happening, why, and how he was involved, if at all. He liked to understand these sorts of situations, which was perfectly alright. He was the quiet type, the one who rarely spoke in class or spoke at all. Only when around friends, or engaged in a debate, did he open up and speak a bit too much. Around people he didn't know, Gabriel was like a man's dog. Quiet and tolerant of the present situation, until he saw something he didn't like and made sure everyone knew it. What does any of this have to do with the present situation? Nothing. Gabriel was, at the moment, wandering around Aura Academy, trying to figure out exactly what he wanted to do next. He had no idea, which would give one reason to think he was trying to figure it out. Had he known where his legs were taking him, on the other hand, he may not have tried to think about it so much.

Gabriel was, as said previously, wandering around AA without a purpose. All he had was a candy bar in his hand and the wrapper in his other, which he dropped on the ground and allowed someone to throw away themselves. He wasn't lazy, on the contrary. He enjoyed physical exercise, but no one was perfect. No one could actually stop eating chocolate, or any sort of sweet. There would be too much temptation, and this is obviously not going anywhere. Gabriel continued wandering around the school grounds, finally deciding the sports field looked like a wonderful place to spend his free time. He did enjoy sitting around the sports field. So much equipment he could bring to life. He had made sure to attend a particular soccer game last year, at which he picked up the ball before the start of the game and used his abilities to animate it. That ended up in a very interesting game, as the ball continued to bounce away from the players, refusing to let them kick it. It also resulted in a detention for Gabriel. Which was actually much more fun than it had been intended to be.

He walked onto the field, not noticing Ms. Kallan Black, or much of anything else. He instead looked up at the sky, which was a rather lovely blue color. The clouds were white, as normal, and it didn't look like anything special was about to happen. That was because it wasn't. Today was just like every other day in November. Cold. Why couldn't it be warm out all year round? Regardless, Gabriel found himself standing on the sports field with only a T-shirt and jeans on his figure. It didn't matter to him. He was warm. A few moments after the realization hit that he had forgotten to bring a coat with him, which had hit him three times on the way down here and had not once caused him to think twice about it, he frowned and sighed to himself. He had forgotten his coat.

It was at this moment that he noticed Kallan Black running around the field, looking rather lovely in her sports bra and shorts. Well, everyone looked lovely when they were just in their undergarments and a pair of shorts. Regardless, Gabriel was not a creep. He could handle himself. Just not the best. He didn't feel that way about this girl, so any thoughts he had just had were nullified and sent away to some other land. He coughed, quietly, and spoke up. "Hello Kallan. Aren't you cold?" Short and to the point. Exactly how Gabriel preferred to speak.
