SHINING OH SO BRIGHTLY

Personality Traits:
ARGUMENTATIVE:: Jamey can be quite argumentative at times. Most of the time sarcasm will be mixed in with what Jamey would call logic.
KIND: Jamey can be nice, he just has his own way to go about it.
MANIPULATIVE: Not in a bad way. he just knows how to manipulate what he says in a way that it won't hurt anyone's feelings.
DETERMINED: One thing to know about Jamey is that he'll never give up.
GOOD LIAR:: Jamey may not be the best liar in the world, but he can definitely get himself out of some minor situations if he wants to.
General Personality:
Jamey sees almost every minute of everyday as an opportunity to sharpen his skills in the art of sarcasm. If he gets into argument, his goal is to win. In order to do so, he needs to say the center thing at the center time, so that the opponent feels insecure or defeated. Even if he knows that he’s in the wrong, he’ll still argue his point to the very end. He likes to argue, it just can’t be helped. But if the argument turns into something physical, this is where Jamey will back off. He isn’t the type to get into a physical brawl over a stupid argument, he views people who do as nothing more than, well, stupid.

Despite the fact that Jamey seems to attracted to the concept of an argument, he is generally a nice person. If someone doesn’t do something he considers inconsiderate, or otherwise stupid, then he won’t attempt an argument with them. Just like if someone just wants to talk with him, about anything, he’ll listen and give his opinion, not make them feel stupid for wanting to share something with him. Jamey has also always been loyal to friends and family, even when they walked all over him. This shows that he believes, and sometimes third, chances. He almost always gives people a second chance, unless they did something that really, really offend and hurt him.

Jamey doesn’t really care what other people think about him. He knows how to pretend so that he doesn’t end up hurting someone’s feelings, but this doesn’t always mean he really believes in what he’s saying. For example if he thinks someone looks horrible one day, he’ll tell them that they look nice today just because he can’t stand it when people give him that pitiful little face that means he made them feel bad. The reason he can’t stand it is because he has the worst guilt complexes you’ve ever seen. It doesn’t matter if it’s his worst enemy, if he something mean (and he’s doing it because he’s arguing about something) and someone gives him that look, he’ll beat himself up for days about it, sometimes not forgiving himself, even after the person he offended does.

If you need to know anything about Jamey, it’s that he never, ever gives up. He will do what he views as center until the very end, and even if he ends up losing, he’ll still have the satisfaction of trying his hardest. As long as he can justify why he thinks something is center to himself, then he’ll basically ignore everyone else’s opinion so he can do what he thinks is center. It’s just how he was raised. If he was taught to be mean and vicious then that’s probably how he would act.

Jamey doesn’t mind breaking the rules and telling a few lies to do what he thinks is center. He’s usually willing to do almost anything he has to in order to get what he wants. If that means violating a few school rules and telling a lie or two, then he’ll do it. While Jamey isn’t the best liar, especially when he tries to make them too complicate, he can sometimes get himself out of minor infractions.

Relationships and Jamey don’t really mix too well. It’s like baking powder and vinegar, when Jamey enters a relationship, it’s bound to explode in his face. Basically, he subconsciously sabotages the relationship because commitment isn’t his thing. He prefers to be with someone for awhile, and then have his options open again. Usually after several months he’ll start to notice small little details about his partner that he didn’t notice before. How her middle toe is longer than her big toe, is just one example of this. Just small little things that wouldn’t bother the average person, but it bothers him because he’s just looking for a way or an excuse to get out.

Appearance:
Jamey is of average height for a guy his age, which he views as lucky. He’d rather be average then too tall or too short. His build is rather slim and athletic build. Most of this muscle comes from running Track and playing other sports, like swimming. The muscles in his legs are well-defined, unlike the muscle in his arms. Thanks to the running he does, Jamey is in very good shape, despite the amounts of food he can put away in one sitting.

When people first glance Jamey, they probably think he’s slightly goofy. Mostly because of the way he holds himself, which really doesn’t show people that he takes things very seriously. His body language isn’t usually as elegant or as graceful as he could be. This is because he really doesn’t care about whether people thinks he’s immature or goofy, he’d rather just be himself.

Jamey is slightly paler than the average teenager his age. Despite the fact that he spends a lot of time outside running or just hanging out, Jamey just can’t seem to sun tan. He has an almost perfect complexion, except for the light freckles that are sprinkled over his back and shoulders. Some people would say that he should spend more time outside, but eh would likely be hard pushed to actually do so.

His mop of blonde and dark brown hair is usually just sitting there, uncombed, as if he just got out of bed. Luckily for him, his hair naturally falls down on his head. His face looks better than most teenagers, without any blemishes or anything of the sort (at least at the moment). He has been known to get a zit or pimple every now and again. Jamey’s small, pale blue eyes match his natural skin-tone, which he views as a good thing. He thinks it would be too much of a contrast if his eyes were like, dark brown or something of the sort. A small, rounded nose and pale, thin lips also sit upon this 16 year olds face. Jamey has that whole surfer boy thing going on about him, which is just fine with him.

    History:
[list]Jamey Bailey was born and raised in Manhattan, New York, where his parents were both actors in different types of plays almost everyday. It wasn't until Jamey was actually born that they took a break to raise him. Since it was their first child, the couple had decided that they would both take a break from acting in order to raise him properly. Jamey lived a mostly sheltered life up until the age of about 8 years old. His parents didn't let him do anything or harmful to himself in any way. He had a set TV time because it was harmful for his eyes and health to watch TV too long. All of this changed once his parents hired a nanny because they had decided to go back to work.

At the age of 9 years old, Jamey had his first experience with his power. It was just a normal evening at home, with his nanny frantically going around him trying to pick up toys and movies and didn't things from Jamey's floor. Then Jamey noticed that the sound on the TV was starting to mess up. The words weren't matching with actor's mouths. Then he noticed that his nanny was moving slower than usual. Yes, she was slightly older than your average caretaker, but she wasn't old enough just to start moving slower all of sudden. The next thing that happened kind of freaked Jamey out. Everything totally paused. There was no sound except his own breathing. The images on the TV were frozen. Even the toy the nurse had just dropped was frozen in the air. Then it all animated again.

Over the next few years, Jamey started to learn how to use his powers at will. He couldn't exactly use whichever time power he wanted yet, but at least he could make something happen. And something was better than nothing, right?

Then, out of nowhere, Jamey's parents told him about a letter they had received in the mail about his enrollment at Aura Academy. It was a surprise to his parents that he had powers, as he hadn't told anyone about them. He hadn't told anyone, at all, that he had these powers. But even though he kept this from them, they still allowed him to attend Aura Academy.

Jamey is now attending Aura Academy for his third year, making a him a Junior. He can control his powers much, much better than he could before he entered schooling at the Academy. He can slow, fast-forward, and stop time now. He has also been learning how to manipulate items and actions that are people are doing when he use the powers. Like someone throwing a baseball at him. He could simple move them in his place and they would be hit by the ball instead.

QUOTE
It wasn't hard to tell that Jamey wasn't in a very good mood.  He had been lying in his bed staring at floor for the past hour, looking up at his dorm every few seconds makings sure that no one walked in.  Human contact was something eh didn't feel like making at the moment.  He was lying on his stomach at the end of his bed, his chin lying on the inset of one of his textbooks.  His eyes were giving off one of "talk and die" looks that would likely ward off any unwanted guests.

Homework had never really made Jamey feel bad in any way, but today was different.  He was supposed to writing 3 pages on the uses of sunspoor in Potions, but he wasn't.  Why?  Because he was in the middle of a fight with one of his best friends.  They were arguing over whether use of the Unforgivables was relevant in a life threatening situation.  Jamey said no, they were never relevant.  His friend on the other hand believed that if the situation was dangerous enough, use of them was acceptable.  This argument boiled out after class and it ended Patrick getting offended.  Jamey had been trying to think of what he had said that offended his friend so much, but it just wouldn't come to him.

Before coming into the dorm room, Jamey had managed to put a sign on the door:

Warning:
Irritated teenager inside

Yes, it was slightly childish to put up signs, but he he wasn't the mood for people to come bounding in and asking stupid questions at the moment. Pulling a wand on someone was something that Jamey was not above doing, even though he knew he would never really curse someone just because ignored his stupid sign. He also knew that when someone asked if he was okay, they were just trying to help, but Jamey was stubborn, so it would probably take him pulling a  wand on the wrong person and getting hexed for him to openly admit these things.
