Welcome to Milan, Italy. Where the humans sleep, and the creatures come out to play. In Italy there are races that were only dreamt of. Elves, make their home in the woods, appearing to be human, but their obedience is something that not many of that race has. The fairies, the embodiment of all that is good, their wings hidden, but their birthmark is a distinguishing trait that sets them apart. Humans, weak, the easiest target, to that of the creatures that lurk in the dark. Physics; are not unlike humans, but they have been scorned by a previous lover, and will do all they can, even to the point of rebirthing, to get back at those who’s hurt them. Shifters, confined at the age of ten to that of an animal, that they can change at will, from their human appearance to that of their animal. Vampires, the blood thirsty, laugh at the humans, they don’t come out only at night however, so beware they don’t sleep. Werewolves, mans’ best friend, attuned to their senses and other werewolves around, they are the closest to that of a human race. Finally witches, their magic only used to aid Lucifer, sometimes to the extent of aiding him too well. With so many races making their home in Milan, which race is yours?

DUOMO
the duomo is an impressive site. the gothic cathedral's architecture is decorated with numerous spires and more than three thousand statues. construction started in the fourteenth century and was completed only fifty years ago. the massive cathedral is one of the largest in the world. it is often used for meetings drawn by the night people.

CASTELLO SFORZESCO
the sforza castle (castello sforzesco) was built as fortified palace in the 14th century to provide protection for the sforza family, noted patrons of milan. in later years, the castle fell into disrepair before it was renovated at the beginning of the last century. today the castle combines interesting architecture with lovely grounds. the real attraction of the castle, however, is the museo d'arte antica, a museum within the castle that has many gothic and renaissance treasures, including rooms decorated by leonardo da vinci.

LA SCALDA
la scala opened on august 3, 1778 and hosted many of the world's greatest opera stars until 2001 when it was closed for much needed renovations. la scala re-opened in 2004 but is now used in the night as a place to perform rituals. witches fancy this place.

GALLERIA VITTORIO EMANUELE II
the galleria, reputed as one of the finest shopping malls in italy, is an extraordinary arcade that is as beautiful as it is impressive. the stores and restaurants are not of as high quality as one would expect, but the cross-shaped galleria provides a great walk-thru and shortcuts to la scala and the duomo, depending on where you enter.

PALAZZO REAL
the palazzo has had a chequered past having been altered by several conquerors (including the shifters and the fairies) and severely damaged in world war two. the palazzo currently houses the underground night world club called iris.

BASILICA SANT’ AMBROGIO
the basilica sant' ambrogio was built on a site that has hosted a church for almost two thousand years. saint ambrose dedicated a church here in the fourth century. the present day basilica, dating from the eleventh century is one of the oldest churches in milan and considered a fine example of lombard-romanesque architecture. the basilica has many interesting features in addition to its architecture and is considered the official night world church, though many night people attend other churches or none at all.

SANTA MARIA DELLE GRAZIE
the convent of santa maria delle grazie dates from the fifteenth century and is famous for its unique architecture and leonardo da vinci's the last supper, painted over a four-year period on one of its walls. the popularity of the last supper eclipses that of the church. vampires are in control of this convent.

ACADIA HIGH SCHOOL
with all those teenagers flitting around with special abilities, there's no wonder they have their own school. though they do allow humans in these schools as well, they offer special and advanced classes, as well as a night school curriculum to go by if one would so chose.

HOTELS
what better place is there to shack up than in a hotel room? many hotels are attended to by night people and as such, really aren't as safe as you would think they should be. be careful little ones, a hotel room costs much less than a life.

vampires tend to live in mansions that have been passed down through direct descendants. usually they will have killed the one whom they descended from in order to claim it. vampires tend to flock like sheep around the most powerful, so if you find one vampire manor, you're likely to find another close by.

THE FUTURE
this is not like time travel, but merely if you wished to play out many different possibilities for your characters future. who they married, how they died, and what their children are like. perhaps a grand event that could take place in the future. the possibilities are endless, and just because it isn't planned this way, does not mean that it can't happen here.
