i put a fish next to the fire, and put out the fire, my fish finished cooking by itself sometime later. it surprised me.
i killed a boar, saved my game. reloaded the game, and the boar CAME BACK TO LIFE!
ok, maybe the last one was a mistake, but the other one is real. ill come back when i remember the other one. later...
if by put the fish by the fire, you mean you started it cooking, that's fine and normal.
it's assumed that the coals left after a fire are enough to finish whatever fire-task you started before the fire went out.
if you dropped it by the fire without any cooking involved, that's odd.
as for the boar, I think maybe you saved just before killing it, and didn't save when you quit shortly after killing it.
but if the first is the odd result, then it's a possibly bugged save, and any number of oddities seem possible.
You didn't save scum, did you?
Keeping a backup of your save file, dying, and then using that backup copy does all sorts of weird things.
I still do it anyway. I just don't report any bugs I encounter in the process. ;)
