Hello!
Here is a bug I could do two times during a game:
When I select hideworking skill to cure a skin (pig or grouse), I choose to use the water in my Pot full of water (instead of a Skin full of water) to do the cure.
As a result, the object is not a "Cured skin (being prepared)", but a "*unmatchable string* (being prepared).
Sometimes, it seems the game corrects it after my character has slept: the skin (to cure) is still in my inventory, and the object is a meat cut.
There is no problem when I select the water in my skin (instead of the pot) in order to cure the skin.
OS: XP SP2
Version of UnrealWorld: 3.03.1
Infinite license.
Anyway, this game is great!
Please accept my apologies if this topic is not clear! ;)
Hi,
So, does anyone knows how to prevent this kind of "*unmatchable string*" replacing some valuable object?
Perhaps this is not a bug and comes from my misunderstanding of the game?
Anyway, this is not so important
I've rarely used a skin for tanning/curing (actually, I rarely cure at all)
perhaps that specific pot got a corrupt bit or something that allowed it to function normally except for that case.
I'd see if other pots behave the same..
if so, not sure, but a good guess is a touch of corruption somewhere in the save data.
my recommendation would be to either avoid using pots for water sources (bowls are better anyways ;)) and/or be ready to start a new character if you find other things are becoming corrupted.
worst-case, completely remove the UrW directory and reinstall. (saves should be fine if a new character doesn't fix the problem.)
maybe a data file in the game itself got the slight corruption.
