Title: Urw [dos] And Dosbox

I was reading the sticky and it mentions you need a powerful PC to run it.

However I remember there was a build sometime this year which vastly improved speed in games. I was just wondering if anyone has played it recently with the latest version of DosBox.

Since I don't have the Dos version, I can't try it.

The new, 3.x versions of UrW are native windows applications, and do not require DOSBox to run.

Also, for what it is worth, try DOSBox Daum Cafe. It seems to run a little better on my system than "regular" DOSBox.

Yep I am aware the new versions are Windows only. But I was talking about obtaining an old Dos version to run on Dosbox.

Anyway I am trialling Parallels (Windows virtual machine) on my Mac and it works great!

I was running 2.9 quite happily on my 133MHz pentium laptop, 3.x was too resource hungry (mainly since it only had a 1 gig HD)

On my mac, as you've seen, parallels works well. Obviously boot camp would too and I've found Wine works (with minor graphical glitches in the startup screen) complete with sounds - I had troubles with Darwine. Crossover worked flawlessly.

On my old PPC mac, urw 2.9 worked well in qemu and virtual PC (emulating Win98). 3.0 ran better than on my old laptop, but crashed occasionally.
