Draxx was a young but fierce Kaumolaisen warrior and hunter. He had a sad story though: he was attacked by a particularly crazy group of hostile warriors and while he survived with just cuts and bruises, the robbers took all of his equipment, without any exception, even a rag to cover him (There was actually no such attack. This was a challenge game: discard everything and survive. Not that the game is too easy for me, just for fun). How did he recover from this? That is what the story is about.
For a long time, Draxx wandered the forests and plains trying to look for a lucky opportunity. This came when he sighted a village. As he wandered around, he managed to pick up a handaxe one of the inhabitants must have dropped out of forgetfulness or because he just didn't need it. This was just perfect for our young adventurer though, as he put it away for use. He also managed to steal a tub full of water from a sauna.
This was the first step. Then Draxx cut off a few thickets from the village and made staves, decorating and attempting to sell them. He just managed to make a few to buy a rye bread for survival. Later, he also found a throwing axe in the village and so he sold his old axe for a knife.
The real turning point came though when he met Tornia. Tornia was a middle-aged adventurer who enjoyed a good trip around. Draxx quickly made friends with him. It turned out that Tornia would gladly go to a hunting expedition if he just gets some drink and food. So Draxx hunted down a beaver pack - two fell to the hunter's knife, made some wooden bowls and invited Tornia to a tasty meal.
After this, the two decided to walk together for a week, hunting and going around. They were very effective together, managing to hunt down a hare and a fox - Draxx with his knife and two staves, Tornia with his warhammer. However, their first real trial was a Njerpezit warrior who decided to invade the bushy plains near the lake the two were sleeping on, in a quickly-made shelter.
Draxx attacked first, trying to blunt the bandit's legs with his staff so that he'd fall. He however blocked with his battlesword and the battle raged. Tornia also tried to deal out damage, but he didn't really succeed at first. However, just as the Njerpezit managed to go past Draxx's defenses with a skillful cut, Tornia managed to deal a crushing blow upon the enemy's neck, a wound that bled.
Enraged, the bandit turned and attacked, but to no avail. Just after the first strikes, Draxx swept on the Njerpezit. He fell down, and with repeated thrusts and slashes, Draxx moved in for the kill.
The loot was: clothes, which Draxx started to wear - his first clothes for a long time! Also, Draxx got a handaxe, a mace (which he gave to his companion to let him attack if he's disarmed) and the shiny battlesword he put in his backpack for any possible bigger combat.
The second event was more of a blunder. After the victory, the two companions trekked back to a village. Tornia was used to it, but the natives were getting restless at the fact that Draxx still wielded his knife and staff!
It was too late then though: as they walked in a food store, the craftsman cried "Robbery!" and as the Kaumolainen turned to inspect a bag of flour, he got out his warhammer and backstabbed Draxx.
This would have been his last step, if it wasn't for Tornia. He cried: "Nobody assasinates my friend this way!" and when Draxx woke up, the shopkeeper was lying in a puddle of blood. Soon they got the food and a warhammer from the craftsman, and then ran for the forest before the tribesmen could react.
(Since this was an unregistered game,) Later they heard about a shocking news: a large-scale Njerpezit invasion was up, tracks were found in the east, camps a bit north, and a forest fire was found around. So they decided to fulfill their destiny and attack a camp. They succeeded in subduing one, but then they were overwhelmed... Tornia and a bull they managed to leash (well, I was lucky) was no help. But at least they helped.
I take that as a compliment, so thanks ;)
