There was a beautiful maiden in a nearby village. She had grace, she had charm, and she giggled every time i talked to her. It was meant to be. Kyllikki was the one for me. In fact, since i met her every maiden i've talked to has had the same name (made it hard to find my girl, sometimes).

I courted the lass for a couple months, bringing her many gifts of food and carved bowls. She would giggle and blush, tell me she loved me, but would never come across. I couldn't get her out of my head.

Finally, during one of my hunting trips i encountered some foreign traders, and after a lot of work managed to get one of them to let go of a birchbark necklace. At last! i rushed back to my beloved, laying the pretty bauble at her feet. It worked, she finally concented to marry me. I was dizzy with glee!

As we were walking towards the edge of the village, not two minutes after she said yes, i passed the doorway of one of the village shops. a roar reverberated from the depths of the shop and a bear reached out of the doorway with his massive paw and slapped me in the head. Needless to say, my marrige (and my life) was short.
