Title: My Naked, Unarmed Battle With A Lynx
Description: It's fun. No, really.

El Emigrante - August 20, 2004 04:50 PM (GMT)
The late Bruce Lee (my most recent character) had a number of interesting battles with animals. His first fight, which was with a squirrel in a swamp, lasted only scant seconds as Bruce uppercut the vermin's jaw with his mega dragon punch and brutally stomped on its head until it died. He challenged elk, bulls, njerpezi and criminals and cripples, all falling before the mighty onslaught of his flying fists.

... then came the lynx.

You make excellent attempt to punch lynx to head. Lynx makes attempt to dodge.

You score a HARD hit to its face.
Lynx is unhurt.

And so mighty Bruce ran!

But only to the opposite side of the forest to consider a more tactical approach. He prayed to the people of the future and the people of the sky. They imparted upon him their wisdom and blessings, and he knew what he must do.

"I must hide and chickenwalk backwards until I'm up close with the lynx and then kick it in the knee. Only then shall I taste victory. Delicious victory."

Bruce hid and began to walk backwards. After half an hour of this, he felt the hot breath of the beast down his neck. He turned 360 and kicked the animal in the foot. The lynx hissed and responded by trying to take out his eye. Bruce bravely ran again!

And so Bruce chanted for good luck:

Lynx of the forest
I hate you
You don't see me
I see you

So he snuck and kicked and kicked and snuck until the beast was grievously injured, like Nancy Kerrigan after Tanya's ex whacked in her knees with a pipe. "Hah! It's so hurt now, I can probably just take it head on." In his arrogance, he tried this, and the lynx clawed his leg, causing it to spew forth a geyser of his precious blood. He ran quickly away from the lynx, stopped the blood and bandaged the cut.

Bruce looked at the sky. He had spent an entire day fighting the beast- he didn't have the luxury of quitting. "I must go on. I will do one more sneaky chicken attack for my ancestors!" Again, Bruce crept to the beast. This time, however, he punched it in the knee, causing it to stumble and fall to the ground. Bruce remembered his previous bout with the squirrel: aww yeah baby, he said to himself, it's head stomping time. Stomp stomp stomp stomp. Stomp stomp. Skin carve tan eat trade.

The demise of Bruce came later on when he tried to take on the Old Man of the Forest and had his left arm severed at the shoulder. But that is another story. <_<

LOL - Now that's a good story... I wanna try to make an unarmed character as well... In fact, I'll call him "Chuck Norris", so if URW ever goes online, will you be up for a duel :P ? Just like in "Return Of The Dragon" :ph43r:

Haha. Nice story. I've never beated a lynx even with a warhammer and 97% club fightins skill and full armor... With one strike it killed me. Never even tried after that!

Warhammers are Axe-Class weapons.

Spuzzum - September 2, 2004 08:17 PM (GMT)
Really? That's incomprehensible... a warhammer has far more in common with a club than it has with an axe.

Aladar - September 5, 2004 09:13 AM (GMT)
I know.. but I've cut down a tree with a warhammer.

Defenser - September 5, 2004 02:33 PM (GMT)
The game sometimes accepts other items as axe when wielded.

Aladar - September 6, 2004 05:30 PM (GMT)
Yes, but I've checked its type, as well. It seems to be an Axe type.

Saviour - September 8, 2004 12:40 PM (GMT)
It's a bloody axe and that's it! :ph43r:

Matri - September 12, 2004 01:20 PM (GMT)
Then why call it a bloody WarHAMMER?

Jussi - September 12, 2004 02:06 PM (GMT)
Actually old warhammers were a bit like flanged maces, which can be classified either as clubs or axes. Warhammers usually had a spike designed to punch through armour, or a hacking edge like in flanged maces, so it's no wonder if they are sometimes called axes.

Huh. It looks to me, from my observation of the forums, that lynxes are, to use the vulgar term, "****ing tough". Which is kinda weird, because I distinctly recall hunting at least three lynxes with few or no injuries. Admittably, usually while hidden with a crossbow, but still...

Damnit! Stupid browser...

Could somebody delete this post and the one before it? Please?

Busses - November 5, 2005 01:05 PM (GMT)
That probably wont happen, we will just ignore it, atleast you told us why you double posted.

On another note, Holy holy-things that is quite a bump, over a year. Forshame
Heh only joking, a lynx fight can be very dangerous if you are unprepared, I get scared fighting them when they are trapped in my spike laden traps and have "light wounds" then I start "shooting" (and I use the term loosly) them with a shortbow with 12% bow skill and 15 arrows

I actually got a lucky shot off once on a lynx.

Kumolais Spear -> Point -> Head

HARD hit!
Blood Sprays!

Run away! Wait for lynx to fall down!

It dies. After that I thought they were easy prey for awhile, and wondered why I kept dying...

Defenser - November 7, 2005 08:36 PM (GMT)
Yeah, one hit kills tend to happen sometimes. Nothing is more satisfying than penetrating skull of Njerpez with one, precisely aimed arrow. :P

Slaver - November 7, 2005 09:55 PM (GMT)
Yeah those incredible throws/shots tend to happen.. Once I saw a moose (or what they are), it saw me and started running away. At this point it was like 1 square between us, I threw my throwing axe (skill 100%, Light hit on legs).. and ofcourse it kept running, I was like "SHEET, my only axe shet shet shet!".. So I started throwing all my weapons at it.. no luck. Then I had 2 weapons whit me, warhammer and hunting-knife, and the moose was one square far from bolder and like 20 squares far from me!.. Well, no luck if I don't try, last throw!

Hunting-knife -> Aim -> Head

HARD hit to it's neck
Blood gushes out of it's neck

You see moose falling down
It twiches few times and lays on ground

... WTF! I was like, OMG OMG! My knife skill was at 20%, there was like noWAY I could ever hit it  .. Tho my axe was dissapeared :(

Tomn - November 9, 2005 09:00 AM (GMT)
Of course, occasionally, the opposite happens; a while ago, I saw a Njerpez and decided to whack him. I used my crossbow (Skill around 50-60), hid in the woods, and kept firing arrows at the sucker. I believe I decided to aim for the head.

Two shots in the neck, two in the skull, and a few more over various body parts later, he FINALLY went down.
