Edit: Oops! This should have been posted under technical help.
If a move command on a stack (doesn't work on a single item) is aborted the stack is still moved and no time is spent doing it. Just hit m, direction, escape. Wee. This seriously improves the functionality of the move command when building houses. No longed does it take me all day just to move a kings bounty of tree trunks a measly 3 feet!
I'd noticed it first in 3.10-1 and it carried over to 3.10-2...took me a long time to get around to posting it because I don't know how well known it is and I really am awfully afraid of it getting fixed. To me this is the way move ought to work, even if it is a little unrealistic. The other alternative to move stuff instantly is the old fashioned drop objects, move one tile, pick up objects, repeat business...which is going to look a lot more attractive again if this gets fixed.
agreed.. there's a limit to how realistic fun can be, and having significant time used for moving items short distances isn't quite as fun.
