Title: "oops" Moments.
Description: I'm sure you have them.

This is a thread for those big "oops" moments where you hit a wrong key or just plain did something stupid.
I just had a whopper: My cellar is inside my house 2 tiles below the fireplace, and my stack of firewood is between them. I've had it like this for ages with no problems, until now. I moved 4 firewood in the fireplace, hit the keys to make a fire then hit the arrow key... only instead of the up arrow, I hit the down arrow. Thus setting 20 bags of flour 50lbs or so assorted veggies (including my entire seed collection for planting) and about 400lbs of dried meat left over from the big stag I killed on fire. It's in the middle of winter and I have no other food except for the 2 cuts of dried meat I just got out for lunch. Luckily the fire went out without burning the house down (after several days, apparently that much food is serious fuel for fire).
Setting fires by accident is my weakness... I also accidentally set 200lbs of firewood on fire during the winter by using the last action key intending to continue splitting blocks after warming up in the house.

yeah, well realizing that the reindeer hides i had reported missing (here on the forum) were in my punt the whole time made me feel pretty stupid. i've gotta stop doing different tasks on the same tile

I stepped right into one of my own trap pits, got impaled, instant death. This was just after I had built myself a cabin and a storage house. This was pretty much at start of my UrW career though.

I've done that twice. :ph43r:
Also turned my back to Things That Hurt a few times. Dodging isn't nearly as effective if you don't see what's attacking you. -_-

I've now had two incidents of accidentally hitting my dog in this new version (one of which I only barely survived). Didn't the previous version warn you are-you-sure -style before you were let to bludgeon your tame animals? 3.10 surely doesn't.

At least you didnt accidentally hit your wife when she jumped in the place of a Njerpez. One hit and she bled to death. Poor thing...
It is rather funny having 44 'dried your wife "anja" cuts' though. The only thing the guy has left to remember his wife is her dried meat hanging in the cellar... How creepy is that?

'It cuts the Njerpez or else it gets the hose again!'
This reaffirms my belief that we should be able to skin humans. :ph43r:

I was frightened for a moment when I took my new dogs out to hunt. When they attacked the reindeer they got the red "angry" spikes and I thought it would be the end of my character. I didn't realize Sami changed it so they get the spikes over them when they attack other creatures, not just you. Whew

I so strongly agree.
"Long Pork" has been not only possible, but recognized by the game for a long time, yet that's socially more intolerable than human leather is.
Both are most certainly creepy at the very least, but atleast (in most cases) human leather is no different from many other forms of leather, particularly pig/shorthaired-boar.

YMMV.

Skinning humans would be AWESOME.
The skin from a child would make an excellent leather cap.

It would be pretty funny to be able to produce things like 'your wife "anja" leather'
Too bad produced items dont keep the leather or fur names anymore, though. It would prevent making anything like 'your wife "anja" leather shirt' or '"Erkki" the Kiesselais woodsman leather shoes'
