Which of these three in the anime world do you support?

Dubbed (English audio)
Subtitled (Japanese audio with no cuts)

I don't mind Dubbed but since watching Beyblade and hearing about the poor detail of dubbing in other animes, I've been trying to watch other DVDs like Dragonball Z and Super Gals in subtitled cause I'm thinking of getting the uncut Cardcaptors Sakura in July :lol: .

I like the subtitled versions the best because then you get to see the original version of the anime since dubbers usually destroy the best animes like Saint Seiya for an example. But some animes aren't that bad as dubbed like I guess Beyblade is alright and so is Dragonball Z.

Hm, a tough question. Some of the dubs are really good, then others are horrible. Like Card Captors and the English version of Shaman King.

I think subbed is my favourite, as long as the subbing is good. Some of that is just horrible too.

I think the best way to enjoy anime is if you know Japanese and can listen to it in that and understand it that way.

I prefer subbed and raw. I'm not a big fan of dubs and I will usually only watch them if I can't find the original version of a show.

I really like Subbed. You can't find much of it where I live, though.

I prefer subbed, but will watch some dubs. A lot of the dubs you see on the tele are absolutely horrid. Like the Shaman King one. I love the series, but couldn't get past the 5th episode of the dub because they butchered it so badly. But there are some good dubs. I borrowed the series I My Me! Strawberry Eggs from one of my dad's friends and it was only the English version, but the series was still really good.

Nothing...give it to me raw! Finally I'm getting the hang of understanding it.

It really depends on the anime.

CCS and Shaman King sounds natural when dubbed but InuYasha to me, just sounds plain creepy... Overall, I like it subbed...

Subbed all the way ... But since Beyblade they only sell the dubbed -_- I had no choice. I hope they sell G-Rev original.

I definitely prefer subbed animes ^^;; It's just more.. authentic that way, you know? And you get to watch (and hear) it the way it was MEANT to be =)

I like original Japanese anime but, English dubs are cool except the songs when changed are lame.

I like both. But if I had to choose, I'd choose to see a sub first THEN a dub.

For me. If I've seen a subbed one, I wouldn't want to see the dubbed. *coughFushigiYugicough* Lame <_<

I know how you feel. When I watch the subs first, I tend to critisize the dub a lot more ~_^

It depends on the anime. If I started to watch it one way, I can't change, or I won't enjoy it the same. Mostly, I like them in Japanese with subtitles, since it gives it the originality and lets me know what's being said at the same time.

It also depends on who dubs it. Because some companies are more oriented towards the general public (aka the kid market) and some companies are more oriented towards anime fans. Generally, the latter has better dubbing and less cutting. The former... that can get scary (like in Yu-Gi-Oh, they talk all the time, even when there's nothing to be said).

Yes! The dubbing companies make a huge difference. I adore Ocean Group ^_^

I think everyone thinks Japanese Subtitles are much better for a perfect anime world. But, I must agree with Hybrid more.

There's only three animes I think have really good voice actors for almost every character and they are Beyblade, Dragonball Z and Pokemon.

The soundtracks for each of them are pretty good in terms of openings, battle music and so forth.

I actually don't like the voice actors of the Japanese version of Beyblade except Brooklyn's...who is the voice actor of Kira Yamato aswell.

I like Subbed anime better overal. The voice actors always suit the character and the soundtracks are always good.

I like the Japanese subs, espically the actress's voices which make them sound so kawaii and little XD.
I like dub to. But, I think that just spoils it -____-.

Japanese with English subtitles, please.

If my preferred choice isn't available, I can put up with Korean subtitles or English dubbing. But many times it's just not worth the trouble, especially with my not being that big of an anime fan.

Ultimately, if it's a show I really crave I find myself having to watch the same episodes three times: the raw, the subtitled, and (if ever) the dub.

Especially true in the case of Ojamajo Doremi (~Magical DoReMi, as of late). ^^;

(While watching it raw): "Huh I have NO idea what's going on."
(While watching the sub): "Wow, the translation is lousy, but I get it now."
(While watching the dub): "Haha, they sound weird, but at least they're preserving most of the original dialogue."

And then you still have to break it down into more subcategories: the subtitles could be really good (like the ones distributed as .avi files by really dedicated fans over BitTorrent) …or they could be subbed by some hacks who're just trying to make a cheap buck selling it to you as a bootleg DVD. As for dubs, well you either have studios that really care about preserving the original product (ADV, Geneon USA, and -more recently- Funimation) or studios that are completely insane and total "Japanophobes" (Nelvana, 4Kids, and I'm not so confident about Ocean's work either).

So, just a roundabout way of saying: it HAS to be a case-by-case basis what format I choose to watch in. ^^;

Subbed i prefer- But imo Many of the Beyblade voices were pretty good-Like the main ones for example. Pokemon is another. Other then that not all dubs are that great, sure they get some voices right but thats not enough if they cut so much out Like in the case of the Dub OnePiece which is just ...ugh.

I would like to watch the raws, because I find a lot of my attention is diverted to reading subtitles, but subs are the best I can do with right now, since I don't know Japanese ^^; Dubs are okay, as long as the company does not cut too much out. I can stand most of them.

I do the same thing, Dubbed just doesn't cut it.

But the dubbed RahXephon series did kickass.

Definately Japanese voices with English subtitles. Somtimes I'll watch it raw if I can't find the subbed version. Much rather it that way than the dub, although I've only seen a few clips of raw Beyblade.

I'd love to have all the anime I have subbed or raw only. Although I do like to switch between dub and sub in the middle just to compare voices and the subtitles.

I kinda use Dubbed and Hybrid the most, since for me its kinda hard to see things in english without subtitles even though I understand pretty much of it. I like more dubbed, in the spanish version it more-less the voices fits with the characters.

Like in Shaman King, Yoh's voice is the same one from Brock's in Pokemon. Both characters has deep-like voice. Or like Shippo's voice (Inuyasha) its the same one has Manta (Shaman King). Their voice sounds annoying but cute at the same time. :3

Hybrids are closer to what I imagine the dub to sounds/act like. xD I adore good hybrids, but I prefer Japanese with English or Chinese subtitles.

I DO, however, prefer several elements of the Pokemon dub as opposed to the original Japanese version.

The voice acting in Pokemon is top-notch, even though they reuse the voice actors.

It usually depends whether or not the dubbers/subbers are good. Other dubs are good, while other subs are a bit hard to understand, and vice versa. Raw seems to be the best option, though it won't be if you hardly understand the language x_X;

But since in my case, I guess I prefer the sub the most. I mean, sometimes other subbers gave you comments or notes about what a certain thing is, like that of Shinsen & Spoon, fansubbing Tactics. There's also BakaMix who fansubbed Gravitation... I think. They really did quite a good work on fansubbing Gravitation ^.^;

I only watch dubs whenever I can't get my hands on the sub... But these days, I'm happy with the dubs ^.^; Less money waste, even if I swear my eardrums are splitting a bit.

erm, actually, my other anime last resort is hero, a channel here in the philippines that is dedicated solely for anime... and all the anime shown there are filipino dubbed .-.

Subbed, every anime I've seen dubbed (with the expection of Detective Conan) changed to many things and they make everything so CORNY (like in Yu-Gi-Oh! they went overbard with the whole "Heart of the Cards"). And some anime I've seen dubbed they've gone as far a cutting out an enitre episode.

I like watching anime in Japanese with subtitles.
Even though I hate reading, I love seeing the it without anything cut out.

But... I do like dubbed animes, mainly because I like to watch things I can actually understand. But if I see that anime in Japanese, I like that version much better because I notice all the stuff that was cut out. And when nothing is cut out, it's better.

Prefer all all anime in dubbed version since I love America so much(and I'm a S'porean), also, their cheesy jokes cracks me up.

Ok I'm curious what language do you all then to watch your anime in?
In the original Japanese with subs, or in your own language. (for me english.)

I myself tend to go for the english version, though lately I have been watching my anime more and more in Japanese with subs.

I know there are some very bad other languade dub's out there, but then there are some very good ones, I'd give Last exile as an example of that.

English usually for me. But if the voice acting is rubbish I'll put it on in Japanese with subtitles on.

Thinks I prefer in Japanese at the moment are Spiral and Noir. Some of the VA's in the English dub aren't so good. With Spiral I can't stop laughing whenever Kanone's VA starts speaking and on Noir I can't hear a word Kirika's English VA says for some reason.

Usually I watch Japanese with subs, even if I own the dvd as I don't care like most english dubs. Though there is exceptions, like I prefer the Inuyasha, FMA, YYH, DBZ, s-CRY-ed,Samurai Champloo, and a few other english dubs over the Japanese because those ones were done quite well.
