Thought of this as a cool idea
Maybe we could have a monthly comp that has no prizes but winner gets a sig image with month and year on it.
What do you think??

Maybe ideas like this
Month #1 Snipers
Month #2 Mounted
Month #3 Tank
Month #4 Transport and so on

Ya know, now that you mention this sig image deal, perhaps winners of contests not only win the prize but get recognition with a banner/image in their sig?

I'll bring this up with the other mods, good idea Mr. Pickles.

Nice idea, and I like the sound of it, but wouldn't it be all too easy for people to a) copy it, or b-) to confuse people due to avatars.

Maybe put there names on there one and date etc. And have no prizes for monthly ones only for major ones. What do you think? And we could keep a list of the winners anyway.

I'm sure us surly mods and knowledgeable regulars will know the difference between dishonorable 'fakers'. Quite simply, a master list would be kept of who won what and it would be quite simple for mods to right either of the situations you mentioned.

As for what the mods have decided on thus far; we have decided that changing the title underneath an avatar is the simplest way to honor such winners, and I will have a talk with the others again regarding any other rewards for the nearly finished terrain comp and the upcoming AB regiment.

As for images (I'd love to do some in the size of the Firebase one in my own sig), as soon as I get some working knowledge in photoshop I will be more than happy to create some super special sig banners for contest winners.

I understand that your trying to suggest this only for minor and more frequent contests that don't have any prizes, but it is the consensus of the moderation to have more tangible rewards for our contests for the time being. Maybe when we're all poor and broke you'll only get forum banners, but I don't foresee that in any near future for this forum. ;)

How about Gold, Silver, Bronze, medals for each contest, make the image the same height as your Firebase one, but only about 1/6 the width, that way you can display a history of your accomplishments

Now that, I like, like a row of medals!

Perhaps the competitions could be quite small, and simply consisting of such things as "fastest army painting with good quality" etc. ...?

i like the idea as well! The only problem is that i can't seem to finish a Project without getting distracted :( lol
