Title: AB Imperial Guard Regiment Competition
Description: Win a box of Harlies and lots of kudos!
Digits - November 5, 2007 01:41 PM (GMT)
We are half way through the exciting Industrial Terrain Competition and with only 2 months left in 2007, we thought we'd roll out another competition.
This one is really quite important. The prize is a box of the new Harlequins, but most importantly, you get the chance to define the look of the official Ammo Bunker regiment!!!!!
The rules are really quite simple.
You must convert and paint a squad of five Cadian plastics, including one seargent/officer, one vox operator, one special weapons expert and two troopers. (edit: for the masochists, feel free to swapp the special weapon for a heavy weapon or even a standard. Note howver, it will not sway the judging!)
Conversions are most welcome, but remember, if the conversion is too technical, it may be difficult for everyone else to do likewise.
Please try to incorporate the "AB" logo.
With your final submission, you must post a detailed conversion and painting guide.
Voting will take place the back end of January. Good luck everybody.
++Edit++ When you post your final picture (ie the one you want me to put up for voting, please post it with a large red "FINAL PICTURE" printed next to it! Cheers

I've already done some, but they are metal...

So is that me entered? Or is it a Vox and a special Weapon dude too?

Digits - November 5, 2007 03:52 PM (GMT)
That was a little too easy! It's a competition, everyone must start on the same level playing field........... :P
Rules is rules!
Captain Wolverine - November 5, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
instead of a special can we have a heavy I have a model I have need an excuse to clean up and paint
MutantMaggot - November 5, 2007 06:17 PM (GMT)
I'm in. I may not have much money, but if I can't afford this I'd be bankrupt.
Now ... where to get some cadians?
Digits - November 5, 2007 06:20 PM (GMT)
A heavy is acceptible. Likewise whilst I think of it, if you would rather do a standard bearer, that's cool too! (Don't think it will earn you more brownie points though! <_< )
Arhalien - November 5, 2007 07:13 PM (GMT)
Hmm, tempted, nowhere near enough time at the moment though.
That and I literally can't convert ;)
Digits - November 5, 2007 07:23 PM (GMT)
Then don't convert! I have however edited the end date toward end of January so plenty of time to get this one done.
Arhalien - November 5, 2007 07:44 PM (GMT)
Now why have I got stupid ideas coming into my head about doing a 5 man mounted guard squad using pistoliers and Cadians?
Stagger_Lee - November 5, 2007 07:46 PM (GMT)
If I can find the time I'd love to take part in this. Is there a particular colour scheme (the grey forum colours) or can we pick any environment?
Digits - November 5, 2007 07:49 PM (GMT)
Entirely up to you. If you think our regiment should be trudging through snow, burning their butts off in a desert, sweltering in a jungle, or being boated into action.....whatever, it's up to you! :D
Stagger_Lee - November 5, 2007 07:58 PM (GMT)
Righty-doke Skip. I'm in then. Shall go digging through my bits box when I get a chance.
scrubout - November 5, 2007 08:21 PM (GMT)
scrubout aims to bring out his A-game (maybe with the aid of the A-team?) for this contest too!

Light of the Emperor - November 5, 2007 08:52 PM (GMT)
I might have to throw my hat in as well. I have quite a few ideas...
BodhiTree - November 5, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
Will there be sign-ups for this? If so, I'm in. :) I'm expecting a lot of grey schemes for some reason...
Captain Wolverine - November 5, 2007 09:23 PM (GMT)
I'm in once i get the models cheers digits
charlie_c67 - November 5, 2007 10:17 PM (GMT)
Yeah I think I'll have a go this time. I've got some spare Cadians floating around, plus some bullpup lasguns from FW. Or would they be too difficult for our overseas members to acquire?
Captain Wolverine - November 5, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
i was gonna use bullpups too :(
Digits - November 5, 2007 10:27 PM (GMT)
Can't see the problem. Use them.
Eight signed up so far, plenty of room for more here. C'mon all you IG types!!!
Hespithe - November 5, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
I have 50 Catachan, 20 Valhallan, 10 Tallarn Raiders, and a blister of DKoK, but I have no more Cadians, as all 120 of them are already painted and in my army.
I'll stick with the terrain comp this time, and will probably hit the next one as well.
Astador - November 5, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
Ok so since my terrain ideas failed, I suppose I shall do this one!
thewizardofoz - November 5, 2007 11:54 PM (GMT)
i really WANT to do this... but i dont have much time for this on top of my other stuff (im paintin my Tau again!). plus i want to make my own guard army in the future, and i couldnt resist myself from using that scheme, and if i did happen to win, i wouldnt want MY idea being down 100 times before i can get to it (cuz im broke).
so sign me up, nut dont be surprised if you dont get a finished product out of me.
oh, and is this judged on color scheme, or what? cuz if it is heavilly marked for painting skill, then i dont stand a chance.
and i dont use GW or vallejo paint, so it may be a prob for the guide...
Tony88 - November 6, 2007 12:26 AM (GMT)
Yep, i'll enter man!
I got an alright idea for some cadians, do they need to be painted?
Deserter - November 6, 2007 01:08 AM (GMT)
I'll definitely give it a go :) Count me in!
Digits - November 6, 2007 09:36 AM (GMT)
Welcome aboard guys.
Tony88 - Yes they have to be painted!
TheWizardofOz - Even if they are not masterclass paint jobs, it is still possible that your idea wows us! Look forward to your entry.
bram kuijpers - November 6, 2007 09:40 AM (GMT)
i have a question : do they have to be plastic?
and if i made a greenstuff base would it be converting?
Digits - November 6, 2007 09:45 AM (GMT)
"Cadian plastics" - that's in the rules! As for a GS base, knock your socks off! Are you in?
bram kuijpers - November 6, 2007 09:50 AM (GMT)
uhm well im kinda bussy with the necrons and working my behind off to get 400euros for a playstation3 and a few games to go with it.
butt i supose i could make a few plastic cadians i suppose.
oke , you convinced me! IM IN.
Captain Wolverine - November 6, 2007 05:19 PM (GMT)
I hope this is ok but I would like to cadianise this model for my heavy in the squad and name her sal:

I have stripped it and hoping its ok to use, I ma really looking for an excuse to repaint this one :)
jasevx - November 6, 2007 05:28 PM (GMT)
oh, another model called Sal....
I'm keeping out of this! :D
Ventris_Fellstorm - November 6, 2007 06:23 PM (GMT)
OH MAN! I really wanna do this...damn, I need some Cadians...I've only got one Baneblade Tank Commander...and that's about it...
-:D
Digits - November 6, 2007 07:08 PM (GMT)
Ventris - if I could help you I would. Just posted the last of my Cadians to Wolfy!! Check out e-bay, you can pick them up for a song.
Jase, are you entering this?
Wolfy - the rules said plastic Cadians! None the less, I will allow the use of a metal "special character" or weapons specialist (especially as there is no plastic cadian melta or plasma anyway!) btw, I sent you a flamer.
Captain Wolverine - November 6, 2007 07:12 PM (GMT)
Cheers matey she will be the only metal model all the rest will be plastic expect maybe some of the heads.
cheers ofr the men too :)
Stagger_Lee - November 6, 2007 11:50 PM (GMT)
Well, while the core models for mine will be plastic Cadians, there will be Catachan parts and all manner of bits and pieces from my bits box plus copius quantities of GS. You have been warned! :P
thewizardofoz - November 7, 2007 04:12 AM (GMT)
okay cool so my bad painting skills wont lose me the comp... so i have a chance... awesome....
now i need to get some simple green to strip those Cadians and then hack em and make em my own....
charlie_c67 - November 7, 2007 05:31 PM (GMT)
Excellent. I've got one metal mini but the rest are plastic.
loyalist42 - November 7, 2007 05:52 PM (GMT)
alright, count me in-as long as the deadline's after christmas, i won't have a camera until then. besides, i need a chance to come up with a scheme for my vets...
Death Korp - November 8, 2007 08:39 PM (GMT)
Ok, but...i don't have any plastic Cadians :(
Bad start then :D
