jasevx - September 23, 2007 08:00 PM (GMT)
Got a year to plan this but we've had a spiffing idea.

Next year we rent Willesay Campsite for the club (15 minutes away from the NEC).

Put some Tents up, Hire the Rooms for Gaming and Painting, and use the woods for an airsoft battle, bbq and beer each night.

What do you think?

forgotten hero - September 23, 2007 08:12 PM (GMT)

sir.spamalot - September 23, 2007 11:07 PM (GMT)
I think I'll be spending the large part of the (painting) year doing a dads army tank:) I would be up for the meet...but we would obviously have to get more specific with the timing as we get closer to the deadline.

cheers, hope to see you all there next year.

scrubout - September 24, 2007 02:49 AM (GMT)

jasevx - September 24, 2007 10:55 AM (GMT)
No we don't allow shandy at our bash's sorry ;)

Brush Your Teeth - September 24, 2007 01:10 PM (GMT)
Right, not sure if i'll be going next year or not, but if i do i'll probably be entering GD again, not a clue what with though.

Also, thinking its probably better not to run a table, or come on the GW bus.. just as getting in early made getting out to enter GD hastle.. and the bus just want my style (had about 5 hours sleep in the past 48..)

So next year it will be no expense spared, fly down, stay in a hotel, actually pay for my ticket and buy lots of toys :D

jasevx - September 24, 2007 01:13 PM (GMT)
What u'd prefer a 5 star hotel and mini bar to our snug tents and ten pack? Woose ;)

Interesting idea; not sure how I'd explain that to my parents (;)) and you may have to hold on the beer for me (although a lot could change in a year), and I may not go next year owing to increased work-load from the IB and....
I'll stop finding problems now ;)

If were having an airsoft battle then bagsy on the side with your little lad. He was ace!

'Show to the free things small child' - And he was off like a rocket.

Wasnt there talk of a easter meet up at warhammer world? And if there wasnt then there is now!

forgotten hero - September 24, 2007 02:42 PM (GMT)
why not christmas :P, a winter battle so to speak. 'battle for Santa's grotto' :P

i go down once a week to warhammer world (Nottingham)

so if you see a mad man wealding a mech eldar army like a mad man, feel free to say hello, but be prepared for a puzzled look followed by 'who the hell are you?'

schoolcormorant - September 24, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
i think a xmas meet up would be cool, at least nearly everyone has time off.

obviously we'd need to be at home for the 25th though...:D

SC

Arhalien - September 24, 2007 06:16 PM (GMT)
Hmm, doubt a Christmas meet up would be possible for me.
I'll have a think and see though,

springy666 - September 24, 2007 06:47 PM (GMT)
Hmn...........

Well, it will be difficult for me............ next year i'm 16 so i'm no longer in youngbloods.

But bugger it, i've got the whole year to plan/make/convert/paint a model so yes, I will be entering!

I will probably enter something like a terminator captain, lots of raised detail so it won't be emmensly hard for me to do a good job on it........
I think:D

Rictus - September 24, 2007 07:12 PM (GMT)
Sounds like a plan jase.

And scrubby, you're a Californian, so you're not geographically screwed, you're just screwed.

Death Korp - September 25, 2007 04:17 PM (GMT)
I'll probably do a DKoK Quarter Master and Retinue.

DK

Asmodai Dark - September 25, 2007 08:01 PM (GMT)
Aye Christmas is a little dodgy as I finish late - unless I work hard but thats not going to happen

Arhalien - September 25, 2007 08:33 PM (GMT)
On the subject of next year's Golden Daemon (if I can go) I';m tempted to enter 40k squad with an inquisitor (Lok model) and his retinue.
Only problem is getting the models to use for the retinue (3 acolytes, 2 combat servitors and 2 warriors with flamers).
The acolytes could be Empire Free company i suppose, and the warriors could be done with kasrkin models (if I did a full army the Inq STs would be kasrkin) but the combat servitors would be tricky; I really don;t like the current models. I was thinking maybe of trying to convert Grimaldus' retinue, although that may be a bit beyond me ;)

Any suggestions?

Astador - September 26, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)

SC

Astador - September 26, 2007 12:44 PM (GMT)
Well if you do, fly down here and drive up with the rest of us!

Arhalien - September 26, 2007 09:07 PM (GMT)
An idea; for the next meet up should we try and make a banner for Ammobunker like the Warseer banner? Try and go one further than the pair of jeans :D

Astador - September 26, 2007 09:25 PM (GMT)
I'd prolly wear Ammobunker jeans if they were somewhat tight fitting. Not girls pants though
