Title: 3 Dragon Temple "Huang Pok"
Description: The domain of the DragonPriests
Galikoe3 - October 27, 2007 12:38 PM (GMT)
Hi all
This is an ongoing project for my dragon Priests fortification "Huang Pok Temple".
The temple is where the priests of the order conduct all of their various business.
1..The rearing and monitoring of the newly hatched wyverns and dragons.
2..The testing of the aspirants.
3..And the interrogation of captured heretics and others.
This is my inspiration/reference picture.

The temple will stand 9 floors high with a central courtyard, I will also be attempting an hexagonal design to the temple,
It will also be one of 3 stations for a defense laser. The other two situated elsewhere on Galikoe Prime.
Plans and wip pics will be coming soon.

bloody hell, this is going to be big!
Galikoe3 - October 27, 2007 12:53 PM (GMT)
Yeah I know didn't realize the size of it until I started the first building. its only four floors high at the mo, 5 more to go.
The walls are only going to be four floors high though so at least that is small blessing.
The plan being that this will be the actual battle board at the moment, until i get my shed then it grows some more.
Its going to be modular for now for storage reasons, until the shed then its put together permanently.
Pics soon.
Looking for a different approach to the entrance of this place, like a really big door or something, any advice on how to go about this would be really appreciated.

I would also like any thoughts you guys have on an idea i got for some side turrets i want on the back building.

This is just a quick slash and dash job but i hope you get the jist. I need help on how I can accomplish this without it falling off everytime.

Not sure about the side turrets, but it looks good and big!

Seeing this close up in person, they use FW bits, which twin autocannon's on a box mount would easily replace.

For the door, you can't go wrong with layers of plasticard made into an icon for the door. Have a look at the Cathedral in the CoD book and you'll understand what I mean.

Cheers for the idea scrubout, I am thinking of maybe a large door and instead of the Aquila like on the double doors a dragon symbol in the same style as it.
Also while I was looking at the progress so far and what I need to do next, I decided that plywood or a medium width mdf will be used for the larger structures and CoD kit put on it.
Keeping the cost down and providing the stability I need for such a large structure.
A question peeps............Do they still do the polystyrene ceiling tiles.
Galikoe3 - October 29, 2007 08:29 PM (GMT)
The temple is coming along slowly, very slowly. This weekend I will be cutting the relative sizes of spare laminate I've got. they will be the bottom of my main entrance, the walls surrounding the temple and the rear building. all the laminate will be dressed up with CoD bits to get it all roughly looking the same. So a week of painting marines and drawing up and measuring plans.
Planning is not one of my strong points, its the maths I don't like, but I will plod on. Otherwise the temple will look poo.
Pics and drawings up soon.

Galikoe3 - October 30, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
I am stuck at the moment for pictures as the camera I had kept reformatting my computer, and the mum in law took hers back with her.
But if it is any consolation I will be putting some of the blue prints up of the temple by the end of the week.
Sorry, and thank you for your patience.

The plans for the front of the temple will be put on later today, thanks to everybody for their patience.
Well the temple design has been revised slightly since I posted last, the side walls will be shorter and 1st main building will be longer at the back.
here is the front plan, sorry for the quality.

what parts , tools , bitz , and other stuff wil you use to create this temple?
how much wil it cost to make a project that big?
can we expect some sort of tutorial for this?

Looking forward how it will turn out.

Galikoe588 - February 6, 2008 05:47 PM (GMT)
Due to technical reasons my computer blew up on me. So Galikoe3 has become Galikoe588.
The original temple has been put on hold for a while due to work and family commitments( I have not bought or painted anything since november). The new and improved temple will be smaller, infact it will be 5 seperate temples that can be connected together to make one big temple.
I will be using alot of CoD terrain, I also have a shed load of laminate flooring offcuts that will be used.
Inspired by old gaurd I will be attempting interiors in all temple sections, trying to get as much gaming possibilities out it as I can.
