Title: 'The Baneblade Thread'
Description: Show us your Baneblades...
Ventris_Fellstorm - October 24, 2007 03:33 PM (GMT)
So this is where you can post up pics of your Baneblade (s) (WIP, PIP or done), and post pics of 'em as you make 'em. From sprues to awesomely painted and converted machines of war!
(Now I'm not sure this thread is in the right place, so mods can move it to its proper place if it's in the wrong place :D)
My WIP Baneblade:

Show off! :P
Those BBs look great. I don't have one yet. :(
I want two to convert into a Stormhammer (4 sponsons, 2 turrets). I'll sell the second hull/track set to one of the local ork players to make a battlewagon thingy.
I'll also need to work on my plasticard skills...
biscuit - October 27, 2007 09:19 AM (GMT)
I HAD HINGES ONCE..........jealous i are!
Ventris_Fellstorm - October 27, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)

Brilliant idea, the GS needs tidying up, tho I can see your problem, you're working on it while its still sticky. Roll it into a ball then leave it to cure for 15 minutes. It should then be more mallible and make sure any tools you use are kept constantly wet.
Look forward to seeing the finished product!
MutantMaggot - October 27, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
I take it that it was based on the Fortess of Arrogance, with the pulpit?
Still, it's really good. :) As jase said, the GS needs tidying up, but otherwise you're on the upwards road to perfection! (And as the Emperor's Children may say, the road's on the edge of a cliff. ;) )
Ventris_Fellstorm - October 27, 2007 05:52 PM (GMT)
Cheers guys! Yeah, the GS will be tidied up...has to be...looks terrible, thanks for the 15 min. thing...always forget :D.
But there is still lots of tidying up to do...get on that tomorrow then...can't wait to have it done, but I won't hurry it...
-:D
Now start posting pics of yours! :D
El Diablo - October 28, 2007 01:23 AM (GMT)
I've just put pics of my 'blade up in my log if anyone's interested.

Nice work guys!
Anyone seen the Dethklock one some guy made on warseer?
MutantMaggot - October 28, 2007 09:45 AM (GMT)
I've said it before, but I'll say it again:
El Diablo, that is one awesome baneblade. :)
EDIT: Dethklock?
Deserter - October 28, 2007 10:38 AM (GMT)
Ventris, that's looking great! :)
Instead of green stuff, could I suggest that you try car auto body mesh? It's aluminium mesh thats used to patch cracks and rusted parts on a car, you can get it from Halfords or any autoshop. Usually costs about £1 for a good sized sheet and then after you've used it for the speakers you could knock together some chainlink fences from the leftovers :) It'd just be a lot easier and neater than anything I could personally put together with green stuff!
Everyones Baneblades are looking excellent! Think I'm going to get a Stormhammer around Christmas time!
natedogg710 - October 28, 2007 01:42 PM (GMT)
Here's mine:

And since I magnetized mine, it can also do this:

I made a guide on how to magnetize it
here, if you're interested in making it interchangeable.
Ventris_Fellstorm - October 28, 2007 03:35 PM (GMT)
@Deserter: Cheers, but I already made new ones...
Pics: (now fully fixed all problems and undercoated it)
The speakers:

And the whole thing:

Can't wait to start painting it...

Deserter - October 29, 2007 10:55 AM (GMT)

jasevx - October 29, 2007 04:33 PM (GMT)
Great improvement, lets see it painted!
Zaamel - October 29, 2007 05:56 PM (GMT)
Wow, you guys already got the baneblade and built and painted it!? Wow! I`m planning on getting 1 or 2 around Christmas, 1 for covertion into my Dark Angels and 1 as a Death Korps of Krieg.
Very nice looking Baneblades though, all of them.
charlie_c67 - October 30, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)
Nate, with the sponsons what were the bits you magnetised?
Tony88 - October 30, 2007 04:44 AM (GMT)
I would magnetise mine, but i figured i got the money, so i'll buy two more :D
the_great_gonzo - October 31, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
Here's my baby, sniff, all grown up!

Tony88 - November 1, 2007 01:04 AM (GMT)
the_great_gonzo .......sweet as baneblade mate!
What colours did you use.?
the_great_gonzo - November 1, 2007 07:32 AM (GMT)
@tony88 - basically all the green foundation paints (darkest first) over a black undercoat. It painted very quickly, in no more than 90 minutes (Was watching Rangers vs Barcelona when I painted it so yes I did time it!)
Tony88 - November 1, 2007 08:01 AM (GMT)
Cool thanks.
I see a few moldlines, but meh.
bigbadcol - November 1, 2007 10:57 AM (GMT)

the_great_gonzo - November 1, 2007 07:24 PM (GMT)

charlie_c67 - November 1, 2007 07:40 PM (GMT)
Will that be a FW one or a GW one?
the_great_gonzo - November 1, 2007 07:51 PM (GMT)
When the magic happens it won't matter. The magic will happen, oh yes, it will happen... lol
The GW 'Blade is bigger, more masculine! Gonzo Knows Best!
edit all 219 of you!
charlie_c67 - November 1, 2007 08:02 PM (GMT)
Excellant so you just need to win over 13140 pounds and we're all good! Then I just need to stump up another 60 quid to field that new apoc formation they got out this week in the uk.
Xuchilbara - November 2, 2007 01:00 AM (GMT)
thanks for the ssentiment, but having built one I never want to build another again :P
Ventris_Fellstorm - November 2, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)

Inquisitor Steinmann - November 3, 2007 01:51 PM (GMT)
All of these BBs are looking rather nice....
Ventris_Fellstorm - November 3, 2007 04:34 PM (GMT)
And the turret and sponsons: (Caution: Wet paint!)

MutantMaggot - November 3, 2007 04:52 PM (GMT)
Though a tank-hater (in my armies), you lot are severely tempting me to get a baneblade ... though I never will! Chaos is strong! We do not need vehicles to aid the slaughter in the name of the dark gods! Muah ha ha ha!
Anyway ... A nice and unique red baneblade there. Do we get a sneak preview? (ie. painting guide)
Awesome baneblades. :)

Cheers MM!
Well it's basic Adeptus Custodes tank colour scheme (red & black...and gold details).
Red:
Scab Red basecoat
Merchite Red
And Blood Red Highlights
Black:
Chaos Black with...can't remember the Foundation Grey's name...
And then various other stuff I can come up with...like: freehands and stuff.
That what you wanted? :D
-:D
Ventris_Fellstorm - November 6, 2007 07:10 PM (GMT)
Damn
double post!
Anyway, slapped on the Mechrite Red:
